Universes beyond is cowardly middle ground. Planeswalkers should go to these worlds, make them canon. Jace gets impaled by Sephiroth. Ajani gets PTSD from traveling through actual hell on a 40k spaceship. Karn stops Frodo from destroying the ring because he needs a fog next turn.

Modern and Legacy have individual cards ruining them right now, but structurally pioneer is in a way worse place than either. Every deck sucks but has one unbelievably broken thing that it does. The broken thing determines like 70% of games, and the other 30% are boring as hell.
