Russell Brand has always been one of those lads who use long words and flowery sentences to disguise the fact he isn’t actually as intelligent as he tries to make himself out to be
@_tillyflip_
@Otto_English
I’ve been watching videos of similar interviews over the past 12 hours or so and I’ve been thinking the same thing.
Had people been challenged to explain what they meant by “sovereignty” rather than the media just running vox pops then maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess
@GwynneMP
Thank you for this thread.
This actually sums up the madness that was the initially idea of the referendum in the first place. There never was a clear plan for leaving the EU.
@GwynneMP
The past few chaotic weeks have shown that there is no way of leaving the EU without:
a) Causing damage to the economy.
b) Upsetting somebody as it doesn’t match their vision of Brexit
c) Puts the whole Irish peace process in jeopardy by going against the Good Friday Agreement
Why am I seeing Kelvin MacKenzie’s tweets on my TL?
Don’t mind tweets from people with opposing views as I don’t like living in a vacuum but I have chosen to follow them.
I don’t follow this man so why are his tweets all over my TL?
@SkyJacquie
It’s rare these days that a post on Twitter from someone I don’t know other than being on the telly makes me smile but this has put a huge grin on my face.
Fantastic news! So pleased for you! 👍👍👍
Ugh! Now the pretend priest is on my TL banging on about the “liberal elite” not saying Merry Christmas.
I’ve heard this nonsense for years and I’m about to spend the 45th year in a row saying “Merry Christmas” to people
@toryboypierce
Why end working from home at all? There is no reason whatsoever to force people back to their offices. People are more productive at home, can work longer hours if need be without impacting on their work-life balance.
Waiting to hear one good reason to go back to the office
Lovely little dig at the government’s flag fetish at the end of Charlie Stayt’s interview with Rob Jenrick. Beautifully delivered

I think this is final proof that May was as much of a Remainer as Corbyn. They supported Remain because it was politically convenient to do so as they thought Remain would win. Nobody who genuinely wanted to Remain would go for No Deal
@hugorifkind
There seems to be an element of the media that has suddenly taken it upon themselves to bring her down. I am hoping it isn’t due to racism or misogyny but I am struggling to find any other reason
@RenweardPress
@AnnemariePlas
Workshy teachers? For fuck’s sake! They haven’t stopped working. They have worked throughout all the lockdowns & put themselves in danger by having classes full of children. They also taught online, preparing work, marking work, phoning kids to make sure they’re okay
@_PaulHayward
As impressive as that undoubtedly is, I don’t think it would work the same with a kid leading their team out chanting “You’re so shit it’s unbelievable!” over and over 😀
@NewhamIndParty
I’m with the canvassers here. They’re door knocking about council elections and a lady has come out filming & asking them about Gaza which, as the chap said is way above his pay grade.
@IanDunt
It’s utterly bizarre. Some people have just decided they loathe them. They are saying the most hateful things about them and especially Meghan. They’ve decided she is a certain type of person without a single shred of evidence to back it up
@mrjamesob
I’ve worked from home all the way through lockdown. It has improved my work-life balance immeasurably whilst at the same time actually enabling me to work harder and longer hours. With regards to the economic impact, I’ve shopped locally which I thought this govt would support
@Bonadeaus
@PrisonPlanet
Yeah, imagine a world without a cartoon character on a box of cereal and having to rely on other outlets for my fix of imaginary talking animals
@Flightoffancy84
Speaking of my own experience of MH issues. I used to bottle it up until one day it became too much. Now I’m more open about having bad days because I find it helps me.
Everybody is different but I think talking always helps, even to strangers. Reach out if you need to chat 👍

One last sleep before Christmas? How dull are your Christmases if you are comparing a news channel starting to the Christmas Day?
@talkSPORT
Mad thing is, us United fans don’t care about docked points. This is a bigger issue than 3 points. I dare say some might even welcome it as a way of further ramming home the message to the Glazers
@realDonaldTrump
If teachers are armed, then won’t the shooters attack somewhere else? Maybe a library? Librarians are unarmed. What about cafés? Your plan is flawed, mad and senseless
@_PeterHockley
@lewis_goodall
This has nothing to do with Brexit. It’s about honesty, the lockdown, people’s lives.
There’s a time and a place for weird Brexit paranoia but this isn’t it.

@USAmbUK
Never thought I’d see the day when a serving MP invites the military of a foreign power to use live ammunition on UK soil because he doesnt like a balloon.
@johnludds
City supporting mate of mine once said with all seriousness that Danny Mills was the worst player they ever had. In terms of ability, he said they had worse but in terms of what he was (seasoned international and all that) made him comfortably their worst ever player
@KinKhaoYangKap
@Femi_Sorry
That’s nonsense. You know it is but as always with Brexiters, you prefer to blame other people than yourselves for the mess you’ve created.
You’ve caused this, own it
@Superleeds01
@theJeremyVine
@stormzy
He never said he did have the voice of authority. He was voicing an opinion which, I dare say, was vastly more in tune with the people and correct than Rees-Mogg’s was
@BeardedGenius
I *kind of* get why he’s angry. Trying to do a live broadcast but someone is trying to put him off BUT his sneery attitude about where the lad works is bang out of order and smacks of a superiority complex
@TwicksEmma
@_tillyflip_
@Otto_English
One can only hope that people like these realise they’ve been played all along. My fear is that the people who drove Brexit (ERG, Johnson, Mail) will still use their influence to ensure Remainers and the EU get the blame if, and when, it goes wrong
@Conservatives
@William_Wragg
Now you must own it. Any mess, recessions, traffic jams in Kent, lack of NHS funding, immigration, criminals walking free, lack of police funding, the list goes on, you can no longer shift the blame to Brussels.
This is all on the Tory Party now
@toryboypierce
It really isn’t. The EU didn’t vote for the UK to leave, the EU didn’t vote against the withdrawal agreement, the EU didn’t put together another proposal last week that went against the Good Friday Agreement
@BBCBreakfast
Nobody, absolutely nobody, wants that band and their awful repertoire of three songs trying to orchestrate an atmosphere. The beauty of British grounds was the spontaneity of their songs. Something this band ruins completely
@PhilRacing
@IanDunt
I can’t understand why some people suddenly turned against them. Well, apart from the obvious class snobbery, race, sexism stuff that people have against Meghan
@toryboypierce
Oh my goodness. Do we really need to go through the history of Ireland to explain why putting a portrait of the Queen in Belfast government buildings may offend some people?
@GemmaHAuthor
Oooh, a few things that I love/disappoint me.
1) Sticking two fingers up at people didn’t originate from the Battle of Agincourt
2) The nursery rhyme ring a roses isn’t about the plague
3) The dockers only lowered their cranes at Churchill’s funeral after being paid to do it
@BritBox_UK
@SpittingImage
I remember the days when Spitting Image punched up and didn’t racially caricature people who had been feeding kids during pandemics
@John_Siena
@InstituteGC
@mrjamesob
Completely agree. He is one of the few grown ups in the room when it comes to politics (esp. Europe) but every time he opens his mouth you just get a load of people shouting (understandably or otherwise) Iraq, Iraq, Iraq
@prettypoppet
Seriously? I’m no legal expert but that is not acceptable. You’re following government guidelines. They’re the ones breaking the rules. It’s dead simple. If you have symptoms, you isolate and get tested. They need to show you where you went wrong and why a warning was given
@Vez83256737
@toryboypierce
One quick gander at your TL shows your opinion is clearly biased. If the Tories ordered people to work on the Moon, you’d probably support it
@mrdanwalker
Quick reminder. Dan Walker isn’t responsible for any of the feed shown during the Denmark v Finland game. If you have any issues about it, don’t abuse Dan or any other BBC employee.
@mariacaulfield
It’s poppy fascism like this that has put me off from wearing one this year. Let people remember and give in their own way. Which is kind of why we fought two world wars for in the first place
@toryboypierce
@Keir_Starmer
Nice attempt at deflection but the real story is the humongous swing to the Lib Dems that resulted in the Tories losing a seat they had held since the days of the Great Reform Act
@NicholasPegg
1- Yep. Remember those crazy days well. Recall they were being kept inside by the Queen so away from the media allowing them to grieve in peace but the public was outside demanding to see them until eventually they had to cave in and they did a walk about looking at the flowers
Well done to

Which restrictions are you most looking forward to losing?
Please bear in mind that leaving the EU actually adds restrictions to almost every aspect of our lives
@mrchrisaddison
That’s what sets it apart from most of the other “reality programmes”. It’s just nice. No bickering, no nastiness, just people having fun.
@vicderbyshire
@BBCTwo
Absolutely. Anyone who voted Remain in the referendum has been ignored or told to “get over it” with any valid Brexit concerns shouted over by zealots. Now we have a group of MPs who will be our voice
@toryboypierce
The so-called red wall isn’t as pro-monarchy as you’d believe. Voters may like the Queen but you ask any working class voter if they’d rather money be spent on the royals or NHS
@JustStop_Oil
Lads, I beg. Look at the replies you get on here. Your actions are losing you the goodwill of everyone whose support you need. You are alienating the public. Either get some media training or pick another campaign
@MrStephenHowson
What has irritated me more is the fact that both clubs had pretty much put that episode behind them but now Riise has brought it all back up again
@LibDems
Stop this yellow on red attacks.
I’m a Lib Dem member and we have a common purpose in stopping a hard Tory Brexit. Take the fight to the Tories
@GwynneMP
@UKLabour
No, Britain needs an effective opposition. Corbyn simply is not providing that. Labour should be absolutely miles ahead in the polls but it isn’t. That’s all down to one man. That man is Jeremy Corbyn

They’re easy targets for those who like dog whistle politics. They’ll be looking for someone to blame for this. They’ve tried insurers, teachers, it’s civil servants now, tomorrow probably will be back to the NHS and people out of work.
