Yall just don’t get it. All the men in my community driver Uber. I was at a church this morning & almost every car had a Uber/Lyft sticker in the lot. This bill gave them hope that democracy can work for them, that our govt believes they deserve fair wages & safety at work. 😭😭

I suspect some of you view voting as a statement of your personal values, instead of a way to marginally improve the conditions for your everyday organizing work that could actually change the world

In brighter news, my mom, who spent her childhood in a war zone and hasn’t had her entire family together since she was 8, was reunited last night with her older sister, the last sibling living in a war zone, who just moved to Canada from Sudan. ❤️😭

I’ve spent an absurd amount of time with our amazing DFL legislators over the last few months. I can’t explain how proud & impressed I am by their leadership. The way they back each other up, negotiate & deal w/ conflict has been inspiring. These last 2 yrs have been phenomenal.

I last minute got Lion King tix & took my dad. He was very emotional during the entire thing. Then I realized it’s bc it was the first play he’s ever seen in his life. He’s a recently retired cabby & now he’s free to see plays in the evenings with his daughters. 😭❤️

As the daughter of one of those drivers I deeply appreciate the time spent. Just a few weeks ago my dad was assaulted in his car. He’s had ppl damage his car. There is very limited pay transparency. This bill just changed his life & I am deeply appreciative of the time spent.

In 2012, I learned about voter suppression bc of the Voter Id ballot. In 2014 w/ a trifecta I tried to pass some voting rights reforms, it didn’t work. For the last 10 yrs I’ve had a list of bills I wanted to pass.
Over the last 2 years every single one of them has become law.
