Only one limited angle but I think Sandin got his skate off the ice before contact so main concern is a dead leg/contusion (usually day-to-day) Less likely but possible: ACL, PCL, MCL and/or bone bruise but having his skate off the ice reduces risk of those

Worry about a medial/high ankle sprain for Kucherov Luckily though his ankle was not stressed as much as most are so I expect a grade 1 injury at worst and I don’t think he’ll miss any SCF games Mechanism also stresses knee MCL, but again not as severe as most so should be ok

Assuming this is a blood clot in his arm or leg. Concern is these can travel to your lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism which is a life-threatening issue Long list of possible causes but most likely would be some sort of trauma to the area and then a clot forming (1/4)

Concern for Vesey is a torn ACL (6+ month recovery) Less likely but possible is an associated torn MCL and/or meniscus 2nd pic shows typical position leading to torn ACLs and I tried lining up the Vesey still with that one 2nd tweet has full video if anyone wants to watch

Oh boy. #NJDevils Jimmy Vesey is injured and he cannot get up off the ice. I'm not sure what happened there but he is in considerable pain. He is being helped off by a trainer and teammate, not putting any weight on his left leg.

Not familiar with this mechanism so not sure If Graves injury was before fall, meniscus is concern due to knee twist (4-6 weeks if trimmed, 4+ months if repaired) If after fall, worst case is patella fracture (season ending) but most likely a contusion (day-to-day)

Worry is a broken ankle (8+ weeks out) for Anderson Some ligament stress so could be a high ankle sprain as well (time off depends on grade) When it’s the net versus the boards, have seen players come out ok with no fracture and day-to-day timelines so some optimism still

Unfortunately this thought becomes relevant again today Last year Khaira was knocked out in a fight, came back after only 4 days, and then 30 days after that he suffered another concussion Really hoping for a full recovery, appropriate time off, and no pressure to return early

Khaira is indeed back tonight Don’t blame the Oilers medical staff or anybody really But I do think the NHL and NHLPA should sit down and evaluate how long players should be out after clearly losing consciousness; because 4 days off makes me uncomfortable #LetsGoOilers

Concern is a torn ACL (see pics of ACL tear mechanism and position of Pesce) Joe Thornton played on a torn ACL in the playoffs (as skating is not an ACL dependent task) but hard to expect that of everyone Can have associated bone bruise, torn MCL and/or torn meniscus

Report today Matt Martin is out 4-6 weeks Only thing I can think of that fits that timeline and is possible from what we can see is this 1 angle is a torn meniscus Could be a patella fracture but that timeline is usually longer than 4-6 weeks, see Bruins Kevan Miller #Isles

Mechanism is consistent with collarbone injury; either broken collarbone (8-12+ weeks) or separated shoulder (depends on grade but typically max 2-3 weeks for NHLers) Lindgren did react like someone who dislocated their shoulder (week-to-week if can rehab, 5+ months if surgery)

Initially thought concussion but Kotkaniemi limped off Additional angles raise concern for a torn MCL (depends on grade), torn meniscus (4-6 weeks if trimmed, 4+ months if repaired) and/or torn ACL (6+ months) Concern is fact skate was planted and torque applied through knee

Treatment will likely be with blood thinners which carry a bleed risk and thus making playing hockey high risk (ex. Head trauma causing a brain bleed because on a blood thinner) Generally people are on blood thinners for at least 3 months so I think Boeser’s season is over (3/4)

Wonder if it’s an MCL injury for Barzal after rewatching clip. Again thought he’d be ok since his skate wasn’t on the ice but clearly I was wrong Week-to-week often translates to a grade 2+ injury in NHL-speak If grade 2 likely will be out 4-6 weeks

Timing makes sense since Devils eliminated from playoffs and allows him to be ready for game 1 next year Questions about why and how he was playing Likely wore a harness to support shoulder and doing so likely did not cause further damage, allowing a delay in surgery

I think the puck caught Tanev just above the skate boot and then clipped his shot blocker’s strap after Concern would be a fibula fracture just above the lateral malleolus (the lateral malleolus is inside the boot) which can take 6-8+ weeks to heal or a bone bruise (day-to-day)

Wonder if MacKinnon has an abdominal muscle, oblique or latissimus dorsi strain If that’s the case, will need exam and MRI to determine grade of injury and time out. Could be as little as day-to-day up to 6+ weeks Unlikely but would want to rule out broken ribs (4+ weeks out)
