I understand being cautionary, but the fact it happened 5 games into the season was something I think nobody expected. And I don't regret my original take at all. Duclair was going be a big offensive component for the first line and the power play. #Isles
@RTaub_ Actually with his injury history a lot of us were cautionary on him. Hopeful of course but here we are.

Yeah Frank, because everyone and their mother could have foreseen Duclair getting hurt 5 games into the season by tearing his groin and trying to come back too early. Go find another angle dude. SMH. #Isles
@IslesTerritory Where is the guy who said Duclair was the most important Islanders player before the season started? I forgot who? Taub? Fucking ridiculous. SMH Sorry if I got this wrong.

Yeah because a puck going off of him while he’s trying to defend the net and him just trying to be in position in front wasn’t him playing defense. DeAngelo is the last thing on my mind when it comes to the outcome tonight.

There might be no one on the entire roster who needs the break more than Anthony Duclair. Can only hope he is 100% when they come back in 2 weeks. They need him to start producing.

With the cap going up, $6M AAV will feel like a complete bargain tbh. Also, I think Dobson gets a bridge deal because of his lackluster play this season. #Isles
@RTaub_ With the contract he's due after the season plus his lackluster play this year, is it really surprising? Are you comfortable giving Dobson a long term deal over 6 million aav?

I had this idea floated to me yesterday. It’s not the worst scenario, but I have a very hard time believing Lou is going to give up a 25 y/o d-man. Also just a gut feeling: I don’t think Dobson is available. #Isles
If Noah Dobson is available (I don’t think that’s a good idea) and the price is a top-end forward, perhaps a deal around Trevor Zegras could work. Anaheim seems to want a defenceman, too. Both guys playing below their capabilities and could benefit from scenery change?
