We are the First of Class of the Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Vessels built for the RN. Proudly affiliated to #Stirling. ‘Go Forth and Conquer’ 🇬🇧🏴

39 years ago today, HMS SHEFFIELD became the first RN ship to sink in enemy action since WW2. 6 days earlier she was hit by an Exocet, killing 20 sailors. They fought bravely to save the ship but ultimately she was abandoned. We will always remember our shipmates still on patrol.

This evening we steamed past the wrecks of HM Ships ARDENT and ANTELOPE, both lost during the Falklands Conflict 40 years ago. FORTH was turned out in Procedure Alpha with the ship's company lining the decks in No.1 Uniform to pay our respects to the fallen. #Falklands40

Today, anchored in "Bomb Alley", we mark 39yrs since the Battle of San Carlos. While defending the landing troops, HMS ARDENT was attacked and sunk with the loss of 22 sailors. One survivor was ARDENT's DMEO (granddad of our Pusser). Later, a wreath will be laid over her wreck.

On this day in 1982, HMS COVENTRY was bombed and sunk with the loss of 20 of her Ship's Company. This year, HMS FORTH and @BFSouthAtlantic colleagues have helped restore Coventry Cross at Pebble Island in honour of our shipmates still on patrol.

We remember the 14 sailors who died in HMS GLAMORGAN when she was hit by an Exocet missile 39 years ago. She was saved thanks to a heroic effort by the ship's company. On that night and many others during the Falklands War, she had provided much-needed Naval Gunfire Support.

HMS FORTH is proud to support the Red Ensign Campaign which raises awareness for the more than 4700 merchant vessels which were sunk during WW2 and the incredibly brave and committed men and women of the Merchant Navy who gave their lives in the service of freedom. We remember.

The Royal Navy takes environmental issues very seriously. In preparation for a patrol to South Georgia, HMS Forth received biosecurity training on how we can protect the landscape and wildlife. We immediately fell in love with the sniffer dogs who checked for invasive species.
