On this day in 1982, Captain Gavin Hamilton was killed during a skirmish near Port Howard, West Falkland.
Posthumously awarded the Military Cross for his actions, Capt Hamilton now rests at Port Howard and Hamilton Point, West Falkland is named in his honour. 🇫🇰🇬🇧

HMS Conqueror is the only nuclear powered submarine to have engaged an enemy ship with torpedos.

Sgt McKay was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his extraordinary bravery during the Battle of Mount Longdon - an excellent tribute to Sgt McKay’s enduring legacy.
