I'm very glad that furry is one of the few places where "I want to be locked in a fursuit and tied up, but undressing is my red zone" is considered valid and legible.

621st degree master fursuiter here, have to concur. You never forget the initiation rites of being shoved into an adorable puppy costume, zipper locked up, and being tied down and snuggled by a pile of other suiters. It's what they call "being an animal in bed".

While I do think the promoters should have been a little more blatant and explicitly made it a furry event with suits etc (keep furry weird!), I don't see how "furries don't like to buy alcohol" is anywhere close to true... I've seen more open containers at fur cons than college.

And ideally all the third party would say is "this person is 18+", not anything about their info... it should be a feature not a bug that you get to start a new account without VRC knowing if you try hard enough.

I get my sense of community from a combination of VRChat groups and furry conventions (think "big block party rager in a hotel, where 1/3 of them have elaborate costumes", or the week-long feasts of old). The idea of getting that sense locally is quite difficult comparatively.

One thing I'm very pleasantly surprised about is just how many furries are into fursuit bondage... trappable suit / plushie tf artwork was one of my more secretive guilty pleasures for quite a while before I considered myself part of the fandom, and I thought it was super niche.

I'm not sure whether to agree or dis, I like that cons are a place to let loose (whether with drink, kink, or both) and seem to have become moreso, but I hate the "just take your head off, you don't need a lounge or elevator priority" content creator attitude. Agree as a whole.

The fact of the matter is you didn't do anything wrong even if every allegation were correct... best case to make is perhaps you shouldn't have been allowed in ERP instances at 16, but that's always going to be a hard and dystopian thing to moderate about willing participants.

Not quoting the post because it contains a probably-unintended real name (you can find it by searching the maker), but apparently it's because the owner messaged the maker saying they were going to sell the suit instead of wearing it and offered to let the maker buy at cost.

My maker puts two fans in the top-ish of the head, pointed outward so a user-provided fan up the neck or mouth has a way to exit (and bc heat rises). Or you can be like Kotetsu and just not gaf and do many hours straight every day of AC with no fans.

Was one of 4 people I had blocked, I generally block callout accounts and their owners unless they're about scams or targeted harassment. That account in particular didn't sit well with me with the implicit "I define who a furry is" high horse.

Cat Club last year was, no question, the best thing I've ever seen in VRChat. Can genuinely say I probably wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't go, because it really got me thinking of what other things I might be missing out on and I ended up going to MFF.

Agree, FWA looked a lot like hard mode for suiting, especially for those of us who aren't going to take our head off while in view of people (and I'm comparing to MFF and its impossibly long skybridge here).

Using AI for a ref sheet is a very good filter-out, either you don't know what you're doing (ref sheets should be flat w/swatches etc, AI doesn't do that), or you do but you'll probably be a cheapskate about the entire order.

Faster fandom growth means more clients per maker, and price is the fairest way to divy out the slots because it means the maker can benefit / make a living (and encourages more who are interested to learn the skill).

At least thanks for making it clear that escape from the suit isn't what's important here and that a fully mobile [bipedal] plushsuit kept on with zipper locks or shibari would be fine (as someone who likes that particular concept quite a bit).

TBH one reason I'd wear a balaclava is so I feel less prone to take off the head in a weaker moment... because with a balaclava showing, something is seriously out of place in a way that even inverse partialing by itself doesn't quite show.

For 7950X3D you should also use the affinity setting in VRC (set it to FFFF) to be extra sure, since Process Lasso doesn't work correctly with EAC.

Did you pop into beeg furality? Ran surprisingly smoothly on my machine with a 200MB avi memory limit (tried showing everyone, got a "smooth" 12 FPS until I hit my 64GB system ram cap and then quickly changed it back so it wouldn't start swapping to SSD).
