@MCMCD_ Haven’t been preg yet but here’s what I’ve gathered: pre-conception diet matters a lot (arguably more than pregnancy diet). Organs form before most women know they’re pregnant. Avoid folic acid, eat lots of liver. Make your gut and bodily flora healthy.

@lastadolphin I used to love shittesting! It serves a variety of functions (protecting future children, etc) But since learning how to submit to men, (as opposed to complying) I no longer feel the need. Polarity is a giant shit test, but it’s vulnerable and honest.

@callicrates_ According to GAPS diet (gut and psychology syndrome) you should do meat stock and save the bone broth for when your gut is healed. Meat stock is made with meaty bones and is cooked for a short time (I think under 3 hrs).

@quachelsey Solidly yay. I use Dr bronners soap with a natural sponge and brush. Easy to re-soap sponge with one hand. Also it’s easier to control how much soap you’re getting. Just need to get a special soap dish so it’s not sliding around.

I MISS BEING MARRIED Marriage is the best. I found it calming, soothing, relaxing. A lot of my anxiety went away. It’s nice to have a buddy who’s always there and someone for whom to cook.

@MCMCD_ If you have abnormal gut flora (indicated by any physiological or psychological symptoms) fix it before conceiving. Think low carbs, low sugar. GAPS diet is a good resource for this. Also encourage dad to have healthy microbiome. Both get passed to kid.

I’m wondering if I had an “anger problem” as a kid because because my anger wasn’t “allowed” so I kept giving my parents opportunities to accept my feelings, which didn’t have the effect I needed. Shamed anger turns into blame.

Bath towels are too fluffy. All you need is a waffle knit or weave. Outlier makes a good linen one. They dry your body well, fold up small, have a nice texture on your skin, and dry out quickly so they don’t mildew.

Skin is oil based. Showers don’t clean it. Bathe like the Romans. Use oil as an abrasive to carry away dead skin. Oil is meant to be massaged in, it’s unlike lotion. Perhaps our hand prints are designed as abrasive pads for scrubbing oil on our skin.

@goinggodward It’s epigenetics and gut health. One generation might be fine but the problems stack up for progeny. Our grandparents grew up with healthful foods and environments, once you add antibiotics and other drugs, easy foods, the micro biome gets messed up.
