Pretty much sums up my feelings on the whole Hasan Minhaj situation. Yes comedians lie and exaggerate for comic effect. BUT that’s to make the joke funnier. If the lie has nothing to do with a laugh but rather the central premise ie ‘my mum died’ is untrue, you look WEIRD.

He also speaks in short sentences, and all his dialogue is action. As in it moves the plot forward. Other than that he doesn’t talk just to talk. You never know where he’s been or where he is coming from. He shows up. You don’t see his house etc.

Am just over halfway through the first ep and I really like the vibe of this drama and how it’s shot. It’s like intimate conversations among friends, almost giving cdrama vibes like Fake It Til You Make It and Will Love in Spring. An unhurried pace w/o feeling slow.
