@luckytran @frostycatty @daka_x My profile pic honors Dr Wu Lien-teh and his pioneering work in Malaysia in 1910 on masking to prevent plague transmission. The French Dr Gérald Mesny who came to "help" thought he knew better, refused to mask, and died before he could replace Dr Wu

Dr. Tedros and team renamed "SARS" as "Covid" to mislead the public that it would have less impact (it didn't, you know), and lied repeatedly about "airborne" transmission versus "droplet." Yes, be mindful of your words, especially because, in a position of power, words can kill.

@CDCgov The recommendations don’t *protect* those at risk. They mention at-risk people in passing. You know full well shoving contagious people back into healthcare, workplaces, schools endangers those at-risk, and that sick people can’t just look at others and determine their risk.

@CDCgov You are playing games with people’s lives. Just because SARS/Covid is now “common” and caught via respiratory inhalation does *not* mean it is benign, comparable to flu, or a respiratory *virus*. Once you breathe it in, its effects are far more widespread. You know this.

Next time you hear how the USA can't afford to retrofit buildings, provide PPE in healthcare, or do almost anyting about the ongoing pandemic: "both sides agreed to rescind more than $6 billion in unspent pandemic aid"

@Guglar9 Remote learning outcomes were dramatically different for those with poor internet access at home, phones only instead of laptops, etc. Did we address this inequity, increasingly important in the modern world? We did not. Shoved 'em back in there to breathe the plague air.

@YMAPodcast Respirator masks that do not let the breath "go around" (N95/FFP2, P100, etc.) work much better than masks that do allow the breath to go around (cloth, "surgical," etc.). And they all reduce the viral inoculum to varying degrees. People w many nose shapes pass fit tests in N95s.

@ChrisCuomo Surprised after your excellent interview w/ Dr Birx that you’d say we “just got out of the pandemic.” Covid is still here and we’re not doing enough to contain it. If you’re worried about lab safety you should definitely be worried about healthcare safety.

@CIDRAP Both WHO and CDC are trying to memory-hole this mistake by eliminating the *words* "droplet" and "airborne" but *not* upgrading to airborne precuations. That's happening right now, along w/ lack of precautions in healthcare or anywhere else, & rampant asymptomatic Covid spread.

Yeah bro in Rogan's latest podcast he says WOKE IS AIRBORNE. For real. Just like sawdust, the only other thing that a mask could possibly block. Here, you better take this work mask to protect yourself.

@nicktsergas @ChiefSciCan For once I would like to see a study that *supports* twelve months of protection, versus 3-4 months often reported. In the global switch to annual vaccination, we somehow skipped the step of explaining why it would be *sufficient*—just “vibes” (combine w/ flu vax) & necessity.

@LauraMiers Even worse: Delta asked for test-to-exit after five days, and Walensky said, awesome, but let's skip the test and just exit after five anyway!
