I don't know, fairly routine to shag everyone in a pub or restaurant every time I go in before sharing dirty needles with them all after.
@streetcamlondon
@Hackneycyclist
No you don't. That driver drove over that bike deliberately and drove the car towards a kid. That needs no context at all.
Unfortunately, Ireland today told itself that women should take care of the home, that non married families are less important, and that children who don't have married parents are less equal than those who do not. The people have spoken, the bastards.
The death of Des O Malley reminds me that in my teens and in the middle of an AIDS epidemic
@fiannafailparty
expelled him for voting to make condoms more easily available to all. Shocking stuff.

Do you know who that kid is? If you do get him to leave the bike into a local bike shop and I'll pay to get it checked over and fixed. Least we can do. Poor lad.
I think I can safely say I speak for the vast majority of Irish doctors when I say don't take medicines designed for animals... Was quite honestly shocked to see it alluded to by a colleague earlier. Sheep dip is for sheep not people. Even if it's cheap don't take it !

My Da should have been 82 today and enjoying retirement and his grandkids. Smoking meant he never lived to see either. If you all do one thing today stop smoking or encourage someone who does smoke to stop...

Obdurate " the stubborn refusal of super rich and rednecks to realise they are going to destroy the UK and destabilise Ireland by insisting on a ideologically corrupt policy passed in a referendum fueled by lies and cheating"
For the many criticising

for the vaccination rollout remember there have now been more doses of vaccine given than there have been cases of Covid since this all started. Credit where it is due.
@climurphy
@olddiesel
Not a fair comment. Real people with real jobs here. You and I are not going to lose our jobs or homes based on this advice. Others are, remember that before making trite comparisons.
@Noah_Halpin
Trans men are at a significant disadvantage. That is why they tend not to appear at the top in elite sport. Your comments that trans women are not at an advantage are simply not correct. It is am evolving area but equality and fairness in sport are vital.
Could all media organisations looking for an expert opinion re
#Corvid19
please please please ask a Public health specialist rather than the usual Medics they call for pretty much all the time... All of us have opinions but on this issue the only expert medical ones are from them
After sleeping on it and much thought have to say NPHET are wrong to ask for level 5, we need to live and not pretend we can make COVID19 go away. Restrictions are needed but this goes too far.
@DarrenEuronews
It's no more "uncomfortable" to watch than seeing someone in a wheelchair, someone coughing, someone on crutches. She is doing her job and whatever she has is not compromising that, The problem is with those who cannot cope with seeing it, not with her for having it.
Am very disappointed that despite promises of access on fri and then today the portal for GPs to apply to get the Covid vaccine is still not available. Just not good enough.

That is genuinely shocking. We should not have tourists here right now. Gov being rightly cautious about travel and many of us down money and missed holidays as a result (no complaints about that btw). Having tourists from Covid hot spots madness...
Over 500,000 people vaccinated now in Ireland. A small but significant milestone. All involved need to get some credit for this. Pharma companies, HSE, Vaccinators and admin/support staff.

@KrutikaKuppalli
I'm sorry but that's just nonsense. Pandemics come and go all the time. We have to adjust for a period but masks are just not here forever, nor are the other restrictions. This is just hysteria.
At what point do we have to consider the adverse health effects on over 70s from deconditioning and loss of fitness/mobility versus the risk of CV19. Certainly not there yet but something we have to start thinking about
#COVID19
As a GP I'm already dealing with the fall-out of the response to COVID. Delayed diagnosis, delayed access and severe effects on mental health. Offering a token piss up at Christmas is not a plan on how to live with this. Its a surrender.

Watching from Ireland we were in absolute disbelief at how little was being done and at how casually the UK government was taking the situation. If that was their best then God help us all.....
Masks are not nice to wear, they are not normal and its of limited benefit. BUT we are in unprecedented times and they might help prevent a new outbreak. I'm wearing them at work, in shops and on public transport. Moan away but just do it as well.

A year to the day since Chris Froome got let off a doping ban for having a shed load of ventolin in his system. 1 rule for the rich another for the not so rich...
Am I the only one who's really concerned that a minister has been driving up and down from Offaly for the past 30 years without having a full license? All those other cyclists, pedestrians and drivers at risk because an unqualified driver too selfish and reckless to get a lift??
@richardtgarland
I'm a bit disappointed how few people share my own views re IRA. I've a visceral hatred of terrorism, murder, maiming etc. What goal ever justifies blowing apart a child as in the Shankill or Warrington bombs (just 2 of many). I see singing "up the Ra" as pissing on their graves.

I have a brother who died as an infant before I was born. My mother still grieves for him and my sister and I miss him. Never forgotten and the grief still raw over 50 years later.
@ciananbrennan
So to be clear, you went to the pharmacy and were able to buy an antigen test but surmise from that that you were not able to buy an antigen test ????
This new lockdown is shite but it is necessary, peak virus season and hospital admissions have shot up this week. Keep calm, wash your hands, wear your mask and keep to yourselves. With the vaccine this is going to be over in the relatively near future and things will get better.
Nice one
@SimonHarrisTD
tells GP's to potentially offer repeat smears and consults to 1,000,000 women with in 90 days. thats up to 5000 per GP or up to 10 a day.. Free repeat smears a time limited offer (he didn't publicise that bit...). Work load not really a concern for him
@VeteranBritish
He shot a man with learning difficulties in the back while he was running away. He's been running from justice since but it is catching up with him now. Let's hope it gets him before the grim reaper does

I think it is, she has a disability or illness of sorts which is not affecting how she does her job. The discomfort is in how we perceive it. I see resilience and strength in working through it.

Hard to feel much sympathy. A bit of soul searching and reflection would be far better than wallowing in self pity. He's not the victim here.
@DrZeroCraic
I am genuinely starting to lose it with al the services being cancelled. No physio again, other services so limited they are effectively non existent and diagnostics and treatments delayed, postponed and just no happening. I have more patients suffering from this than from CV19
@hazechu
The problem is he is stating things as fact which are simply not true. Fairness and equality in sport are vital. In many sports trans athletes have an unfair advantage over biological women. We don't yet know how to deal with this.
For all those advocating free Antigen tests please look at the UK, free ones provided and now supply is exhausted and none at all available. Here we pay for them (€3 approx) and there are plenty available. there is a lesson in there somewhere about supply/demand ....
@deceuninck_qst
Still a fan of the team but remain disgusted as a medic the way Patrick Lefevre spoke about Sam. Not acceptable, ethical or professional behaviour and apologies are in order.
A sad day for Irish cycling. We lost one of the greatest coaches of his era and a dedicated cycling man. RIP Paddy Duran. You left the world a better place than you found it.

I'll be honest I'm not bothered. Would prefer it to go to nursing, nursing assistants, phlebotomists, porter, cleaners etc in hosp who are on far less money and were right in the front line.
@ProfPatOConnor
The Dublin Marathon and indeed all marathons regularly continue after sudden cardiac deaths. There is a real and ongoing risk in every endurance event of these types. Not belittling the loss but in events like this deaths are likely over time.

Are we being trained so badly that it takes 10 years to learn what PA's learn in two. Or are Doctors being replaced with professionals who are less well trained due to their cost.
@EmergMedDr
In Ireland children go to funerals and wakes from a very young age. Death is part of life and its healthy for us to be exposed to and become more comfortable around it.
@hughcahill7
Population of "Ireland" is 7 million. Rugby, gymnastics, golf are all "All Ireland" rather than ROI sports. Subtle but important difference.
@PatKennyNT
Big issue is NPHET are not being clear about what we are aiming for. CV19 is not going away and will be circulating long term. Are we going to end Pub culture, live music, mass participation sport and festivals forever?
Just before the doom laden advice is officially responded too, would like to point out you can believe Covid is serious and real and at the same time NPHET are offering poor advice based on models which have consistently proved to be way off even close to the mark.....
@SimonHarrisTD
@MichealMartinTD
Solicitors have a duty of confidentiality, you know that. Even if they wanted to discuss it they could not. Similar to Doctors. If Miceal Martin and Adams saw the same GP would you be looking to see what was wroing with them??? Nonsense
Everyone in Ireland needs to sit down and ask how we managed to create an underclass who saw rioting as a reasonable action yesterday. Because this is us, these are our people and we cannot simply pretend we had nothing to do with it. We all helped create this problem.
