Everyone at The Cycling Podcast would like to express our thanks for the thousands of messages of condolence we have received in the last ten days. Next week, we will return with an episode paying tribute to our beloved co-founder and leader, Richard Moore.
Yesterday Edvald Boasson Hagen was stranded with a broken bike and no team car. Team Sky gave him a bike to finish the stage, for which he and Servais Knaven were fined. This morning Boasson Hagen came and found Knaven with €150 to cover the fine.
Today,
@LeTour
paid tribute to Richard Moore. A trophy was also given to Richard’s wife Virginie and son Maxime to honour what would have been his 19th Tour ❤🦬

For her winning post-win interview and her generally infectious enthusiasm for the sport.
Chapeau, Cille! 🎩
We’ll always remember Gino Mäder’s joy in Santiago de Compostela - when he’d just won the Vuelta’s white jersey & confirmed to all who watched that race he possessed a talent equal to the charm & sense of decency that were obvious even to those, like us, who knew him just a bit.
Earlier this summer, while
@chrisfroome
was in hospital following his crash at the Critérium du Dauphiné he learned - almost 8 years after the race had finished - that he was the 2011 Vuelta champion...and Britain’s first Grand Tour champion.

We'd like to say a big thank you to
@FlandersClassic
for remembering Richard Moore on the podium before the start of the Tour of Flanders on Sunday. Thank you also to the huge crowd for their warm applause recognising Richard's work and passion for cycling.
Happy birthday to...
5 years ago today Richard, Lionel and Daniel recorded the first episode of The Cycling Podcast on an iPhone in Hyde Park. Thanks to everyone who has listened to any (or all?) of the 600+ episodes since 🎂🥂🎉

And thanks to everyone who listened and voted, and those we met along the way.
This week’s regular episode - featuring E3 & Gent-Wevelgem reviews & Flanders preview - will be released on Wednesday. Tomorrow is a sombre day, marking as it does one year since our great founder & leader Richard Moore’s passing, hence why this week’s episode will be delayed.
🎙️Tune in to our scene-setter from Copenhagen later when Lionel will be joined by Mitch Docker and François Thomazeau to look ahead to the 2022 Tour de France.
It's the 10th Tour The Cycling Podcast has covered, and the first without our co-founder and dear friend Richard Moore.

While descending towards the Team Sky bus, Chris Froome was knocked down by a Gendarme- he was allegedly mistaken for a fan riding the course.

🎁🎉🥳Happy birthday to Mitch Docker, host of the Life in the Peloton podcast. It's the eve of the final race of his professional career as tomorrow he'll ride Paris-Roubaix for final time. His fan club has been busy at the entrance to the Forest of Arenberg section...
Last week we asked Gianni Savio to sing a song for our upcoming

podcasts.
Him: "Ach, no, I'm tone-deaf."
Then on Saturday, 🇮🇹Liberation Day, Gianni admitted there was one thing he would sing: Bella Ciao, the Liberation anthem.
So he & his wife did. For us. And you.

CORRECTIONS CORNER - In last night’s pod Daniel said that BikeExchange were on SCOTT bikes last year. Of course he was one year off the pace & they were riding Bianchi. Red card & no cabbage for him today.
A very happy birthday to our road captain

The sun had already set by the time Simon Yates rolled down the start ramp.
