The Atlanta Falcons currently hold the 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft.
This pick puts them in prime position to potentially draft Bijan Robinson ๐
In Atlanta, all the teams pull for each other. Iโve never seen this before in my life where the Falcons and Braves and Hawks and United all pull for each other to win. Itโs amazing.
If the Falcons had just beat all of the teams on this list that are currently eliminated, they would be at 10-4 team right now.
And that's why you fire Arthur Smith.
@AtlantaFalcons
#DirtyBirds
Tim Tebow got more opportunities than he should have because he is who he is.
Colin Kaepernick is the one actually being blackballed.
Tim Tebow just sucks at football.
Richard Sherman was charged with 5 misdemeanors, including resisting arrest and a DUI, now he is starting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tim Tebow is a National Champion Heisman winning QB/TE who is also a devout Christian, and the NFL has black-balled him.
BOYCOTT THE NFL!
This dude. 7 playoff seasons. 2 NFCCGs. 1 Super Bowl appearance.
Regardless of how it all ended. Matt Ryan has been the best thing that ever happened to the Falcons.
Matt Ryan should be a first ballot Hall of Famer and is one of the 10 best QBs of all time.
And the only reason that no one else thinks this is because of SB51.
Fire Arthur Smith.
If the Falcons pick in the top 10, draft a QB to pair with the new HC.
Don't trade for Fields.
Let Fontenot pick his own HC. Let that HC pick his QB.

Iโve been in banking for 7 years now. This is the wildest fucking thing Iโve ever seen someone do. And heโs probably got millions and/or billions. Just a fucking clown.
And honestly, I just hope this doesnโt tank the entire country.
I canโt blame
@kenjeong
for walking off after seeing it was Rudy Giuliani. This was a slap in his face. Giuliani has ties to an administration that helped push the rise in violence against Asian Americans. He has every right to be mad. Fuck Rudy Giuliani.
#MaskedSinger
Falcons cap space in 2023 just jumped from $65M to $76M. Before carryover. Before cutting Mariota. Adding those, and the Falcons could be at $90M before FA even starts...
Idk who watches Lucifer, but can we talk about how fucking exceptional Tom Ellis is as an actor? Because his work in season 5 was some of the best Iโve seen.
@tomellis17
Ben Johnson is the guy to fix the Falcons offense.
#DirtyBirds
Use London like he's Amon-Ra.
Use Pitts like he's LaPorta
Use Robinson like he's using Gibbs
Use Allgeier like he's Montgomery
Enjoy having a No. 2 TE like Jonnu with the extra wrinkle.
Draft a WR2 and QB.
The Falcons have a projected $72M in cap space next year before any cuts.
Marcus Mariota would save 12.5M if heโs cut.
That would put the team at nearly $85M under the cap.
From $81M in dead money to $85M under the cap.
#DirtyBirds
The Falcons have arguably the best rushing attack in the NFL and theyโre doing it with a 5th round pick, a journeyman Kick returner and a UDFA. Focus on continuing to build the line and the run game will stay this way.
Matt Ryan as a draft analyst? Holy hell. Heโs really got that GM/head coach type mind, doesnโt he?
Falcons should look at him as at least a consultant.
Two crazy stats Cincinnati CB Ahmad โSauceโ Gardner, who stands at 6-3, 200 pounds:
โช๏ธHe didnโt allow more than 13 yards to any receiver in a game this past season
โช๏ธHe didnโt allow a TD catch in his *entire* college career
๐
The Lamar Jackson to Atlanta rumors seem like something people are speculating more than anything else. I think the Falcons are buying more into Ridder than people realize.
The Falcons have $98M in cap space allocated to their active/healthy roster.
Lowest in the NFL.
They have $21M on injured reserve right now.
They have $80M in dead money right now.
The Falcons are paying injured/off-roster players more this year than their active roster.
@hansdickie
@thecassiecao
I buy a ticket once a week just to see. Iโve won about $200 over the last 4 years. Not a great investment. But itโs interesting to see what happens.
This is a wild
#Falcons
stat.
From 2012-2019,
#MattRyan
has AVERAGED 4,655 passing yards every 16 games while completing 67.3% of his passes.
Wait...WHAT?
Thatโs not a career-high, thatโs his AVERAGE over an 8-year stretch.
This is what happens when they have no idea how to have an effective creative for him. If they knew how to book him, he could have been the best supernatural character since the Undertaker. He deserved to break the streak.
All I'm going to say is, don't be surprised if the
#Falcons
starting defense in 2023 is like this:
DL Jarrett
NT Onyemata
DL Graham
EDGE AK47
ILB Andersen
ILB Rashaan Evans
EDGE Elliss
CB Terrell
CB Okudah
NB Alford/Hawkins depending on big or small nickel
FS Bates III
SS Grant
If you were the GM of the Atlanta Falcons, would you roll into next season with Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder as your QBs or would you try to make a move this offseason?
$88M in dead money
$22M on IR
The cap is $208M this year. 53% of the cap right now isnโt even on the active roster. And people are really blaming coaching?
This off-season is gonna be a nice talent infusion for a team that needs one.
#DirtyBirds
Yes. If you are a Falcons fan, you do want the Falcons to sign Slay and come to Atlanta. They can cut Casey Hayward and save $5M to offset the addition.
Blank will let Ryan come to any practices, games, whatever he wants. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ryan when he's fully retired head over to the front office or even be on the coaching staff. Ryan as a QB coach for Ridder would be fantastic.
The Penix move is as simple as this.
If the Falcons make the playoffs for the next 2 years with Cousins leading them, he was the right signing.
If they then cut/trade/retire Cousins and then Penix leads them to more playoff berths after Cousins is gone, then it's the right pick.
What the Falcons-Jaguars trade eventually became:
Falcons got:
1 year of Jeff Okudah
3rd round pick (
#79
overall) this year.
Jaguars got:
1 year of Calvin Ridley
Suck it Jags.
I think Arthur Blank brought Belichick in and wined and dined him just to tell him to "fuck off" for what happened in SB51. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it.
Interesting look at offensive play-caller rankings from
@PattonAnalytics
.
My biggest Takeaway is pure confirmation bias:
Arthur Smith is not only the worst but twice as bad as the next closest ๐
Byron Leftwich is smart. He's the right guy for the job. And Adrian Wilson would be a great hire for them as well as a GM. Can't work with people at GM you don't trust if you're a HC. It just doesn't work that way. If the
#Jaguars
don't fire Baalke, that reflects poor ownership.
People are so impatient with QBs these days. In 2008, Matt Ryan didn't break 200 yards until his 6th start.
Ridder has done it 3 times in his first 6 starts. In no way is Desmond perfect. But he's showing flashes of being The Guy here in Atlanta. Let him develop.
#DirtyBirds
For those wondering why the Falcons are so in on Desmond Ridder right now, he's been working out with some of his WRs and TEs and RBs all offseason trying to get timing in place. They've been running routes and catching for him and really trying to put in the work.
The Falcons WR corps right now:
Drake London
*huge gap*
Mack Hollins
Scotty Miller
*huge gap*
Jared Bernhardt
Frank Darby
Josh Ali
Ra'Shaun Henry
Falcons still need WRs.
Marcus Mariota has the 3rd highest time to throw in the NFL. Behind just Zach Wilson and Teddy Bridgewater. But tell me again how the OL is the issue and not him taking forever to try and read defenses.
According to PFF, the Falcons have the following ranks for each spot:
LT - Matthews -
#8
LT
LG - Wilkinson -
#7
LG
C - Dalman -
#24
C
RG - Lindstrom -
#1
RG
RT - McGary -
#10
RT
Above average in 4/5, elite in 1, and below average in the 5th. That checks out watching it.
Falcons building an offense of Matchup Nightmares
Cordarrelle Patterson
Bijan Robinson
Drake London
Kyle Pitts
Jonnu Smith
Those goalline packages are going to be tough to do.
Interestingly enough, Terry Fontenot is basically giving himself a giant bag to play with in 2023. Cap hell is officially over with this move. Falcons project to have nearly 100M in cap in 2023. That's a lot of money to build a team with.
Falcons were 19th in total rushing yards allowed.
The Falcons were 9th in yards per carry allowed. They actually had a really solid run defense last year.
@mlombardiNFL
doesnโt know what the fuck heโs talking about.
"The Falcons couldn't stop anybody in the run game and to win you're gonna have to make plays defensively..
You can spin it anyway you want but the Falcons had other issues that they needed to solve" ~
@mlombardiNFL
#PMSLive
Smart cap moves the Falcons could make to open room for a guy like Danielle Hunter.
1) cut Heinicke, Ogundeji, Hughes - Saves ~$13M
2) extend A.J. Terrell - saves ~$4M
3) simple restructure Lindstrom - saves $9.1M
This would put the Falcons at $36M under the cap and in a good
Montez Sweat wanted to come to Atlanta per
@JFowlerESPN
Also, Fontenot had basically planned to trade for him AND extend him.
Bears came in last minute to beat Atlanta's offer.
#DirtyBirds
If the Falcons are running a rookie QB offense with only 20 passes called a game, they should be running it with their rookie quarterback instead of a bust. Desmond Ridder should be starting over Marcus Mariota.
The one thing 3 teams in the NFC South can agree on is
#FuckTheSaints
.
Thereโs no truly bad blood with CAR v ATL, ATL v TB or TB v CAR. But we all hate the damn saints.
Kyle Pitts is only 300 yards away from beating Mike Ditkaโs record for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end. He has to average 75 yards a game over the last 4 games. Or just pull a Julio crazy day.
Mariota is a running QB.
Ridder is a dual-threat QB.
Ryan is a passing QB.
Hopefully, Ridder can show that he can do both at a high level and really help this franchise take off.
@nfldraftscout
Roddy White
4 Pro Bowls
1 1st team All-Pro
10,863 yards
63 TDs
Julian Edelman
1 SB MVP
No Pro Bowls
No All-Pros
6,822 yards
36 TDs
Thereโs no question that Roddy White deserves to be in over Edelman.
Thereโs also no question that Roddy White is at best a fringe HOF player.
