Work your butt off in your 20s. Forget about work-life balance & all the other BS you hear about. You're still young, can test yourself physically & train your mind to work under long, intense pressure.
Identify limits, have fun & keep fit for energy.

I got to see and hug my grandparents yesterday. Hadn’t seen them in over a year. My grandpa is 94 and has trouble remembering things and asked about my new job and then reached in his wallet and gave me $20. And my heart is not used to this level of sweetness.

Took my dad’s employees out to dinner with my mom last night and we all wore his company shirts. It is a testament to how beloved my father is and was that multiple people came up to us in the restaurant and hugged us and gave us condolences and told us how much he meant to them.

This is just to say that Amazon picks up books at all distributors it buys from but indie bookstores are shipped books mostly via UPS so I think you can guess where this strike is going to be felt the most. Go in and buy books you weren’t expecting to at your local indie.
An indie book publisher I follow on the Tiktok just reminds me/us that the impending UPS strike will impact publishing a lot. UPS is a carrier for a lot of book distribution avenues. We should be prepared and be chill about it. UPS workers need our support.

My sweet Italian grandpa died last night. He survived Mussolini and was a radioman in the Pacific Theater in WWII. He also was a great cook and gave the best immigrant recipes to me which are absolutely unusable. What a treasure. I’ll miss him.
