Interesting parallel. Side note question...which one requires more skill to wield effectively? Shooting a handgun is notoriously harder than a rifle or shotgun. But for short range combat I would argue the pistol requires much less skill. Vs the sword which needs more.

I've heard the rate of high school kids who obtain/want a driver's license is way down. Growing up preferring online interaction to real life. Pay extra to have people bring you food (door dash/Uber eats) etc so no need to leave home. Unfathomable to me. I value independence.
