This is child’s X-ray…. The “chips” non medics are describing are open growth plates and are entirely normal! There is a small effusion in the joint but without the other X-ray view, impossible to say if significant fracture. My money would be on there not being one!

I work 100% NHS, and about 25 % extra private. You do realise that private work is, on the whole, done in the consultants spare time, evenings and weekends, as well as their 48 NHS contract. It’s literally done whilst you sit and watch tv! 🤣🤣🤣

Speaking on the BBC R4 Today programme, health secretary Steve Barclay claimed NHS consultants receive tax-free pensions.
This is incorrect. Pensions for consultants are subject to the same tax rules that apply to all pensioners.

How much medicine do you need to know to be a hand surgeon? We can get safe, skilled hand surgeons up and running in half the current training time. Why do MPs with a degree in medicine rarely become health ministers? The last was Dr David Owen.
