@Burnt2020 Bloody agony! Why in one of the richest countries in the world are we having to put up with this? 6.5 hours and still no sign of getting seen to get an X ray.

@Burnt2020 Excellent! My doctor daughter left clinical medicine here. Did 5 years. Couldn’t face any more!

@Burnt2020 Had Paracetamol @ 18.00 hrs before we set off. Can’t have ibuprofen , due to some diverticular disease. Managed to get some codeine from nice nurse. No MIU doctor between 22.00hrs & midnight. Ridiculous. And 8 people to be seen before me.

@G_plus_C @medicalmodelbri @NHSEngland They can. A 4 year GEM course, if they can get accepted onto one. A minority of them could.

It is still only registration, and very few have done it.

@parthaskar @EmDiaSoc Excellent! Mind you, you’re probably knackered then, and have had a nice whiskey first! 😊

@medicalmodelbri Why would someone be expected to undergo an intimate exam by someone who doesn’t even know basic anatomy?

@LostDazes @InfamousGasman Likewise with pre-reg nursing courses. As an RGN I did a PgCert RMN course, alongside graduates doing a 2 year MSc RMN course. There was no way their MSc was comparable with the (non-nursing) MSc I had done 15 years earlier.

@LostDazes @InfamousGasman Exactly! I proof read my son’s PhD thesis for him. Having done that, I couldn’t believe the standard of the nursing ones I read.

@LostDazes @InfamousGasman Very much so. They appear to offer no original research, and add little, if anything, to the profession. One nurse I know is desperate to do one. It doesn’t appear to matter to her what it’s on. Bizarre!
