I live in AZ and thought solar would be a good idea. I ran the numbers and compared to some friends in the area who had systems. Here’s what I found:.1) pay back was 7-8 years. But that’s just to break even. It takes 14-16 years to double my investment. Thats roughly 4.5% rate.

Serous question. Why do we need 529 plans?. If you open a brokerage in your kids name capitol gains is 0% if their taxable income is less than $40,400/ year. Roll the funds over every 5 years or so to realize gains at this 0% rate. No strings attached.
