I am a disabled veteran who has dealt with chronic pain for years. Yes, there are other solutions.
I'm also a CNA. Many things can be done to reduce addiction and dependency. It just costs more than throwing pills at the problem. Hence the cycle continues.

I'm a CNA. Addiction can happen. Period. But it can also be prevented. Proper post operative pain management and care is key in those situations.
Some patients need opioids. Fact.
