To be fair, the teacher is wrong about Good Friday being when Jesus rose from the grave. That was actually the day of the Crucifixion. The Resurrection is celebrated three days later, on Pascha (or Easter), as He came back three days after the Crucifixion.

You do realise that God's everywhere right? If you were to, for example, pray at a pride parade, He would still hear you. And as Jesus is God, He is present at pride parades as well. Maybe you believe that He doesn't approve of them, but you can't say He's not there.

I was at church camp last week and my priest made this same point; Theosis isn't being assimilated into God like some kind of hive mind, as we might think it is; you maintain your personhood in Theosis. The divine nature which Christ has by nature, we can attain by His grace.
