@OrwellNGoode My Swedish friend told me that it's true and he experienced it a few times. But his mom was different and would go out of her way to feed the kids (saint).

@UpdatingOnRome It's not "most often", he just heard that one story of the Franks and is projecting it onto all the other examples.

@Rainmaker1973 Implanting fake memories in someone IS NOT the same as having them acquire the virtues. Virtue is built in the soul through the conscious, free cooperation of the body and mind. It is not reducible to mere memories, pictures, or chemicals!.

@GreenTextRepost Millennial "content writers" make the mistake of thinking that human experience and character is just identical to having a bunch of opinions. They think an opinion is what makes someone a good or bad person.

@pilgoth One of the worst parts of using twitter is having to share internet space with western cartoon watchers.

@AtheistTakes True repentance for this act manifests in deep sacrifice and sorrow, it isn’t just saying a cheap apology.

@UpdatingOnRome It's a cute advertisement, but I somehow feel like American tourists would rebel against it on purpose.

It's just as Elder Thaddeus said. Every single person on earth, even the atheist, yearns for True Love that never changes and never disappears. Because of the curse of death, only God can give us this Love that we need.
Tried to read this to my kids at the book store and had to leave the whole place cause I was crying so hard.

@orthodox_kid That's the devil's advice who is trying to gatekeep you from holiness. The Gospel says: “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”.

I despise neoconservative boomers because of their disdain for human life and outright cruelty, which is completely contrary to the Christian spirit. Fantasizing about nuking your enemies is a good example of the neocon ethos.
If Russia uses a nuclear weapon against a NATO country, then this is what will happen to Russia in response. About 45 million Russians will be vaporized in the first hour. Not much of a life remaining for the other 100 million. Maybe the people of Russia should stop supporting

@BRYN_BORANGA I would think that there are more important problems in the UK for the old ladies to be concerned about than street performers.

@Gabirel1982 L from Father Moses here. The fact that anime storylines are more basic, with real heroes and a stable predictable world, makes them way better than the post-modern “no man is a hero” nonsense that is constantly airing on Hollywood and Netflix.

@orthodox_kid Stay strong bro. Have you tried reading spiritual books when you are feeling weak? St. Paisios "Spiritual Counsels" is like honey for the soul.

The people of Alaska, baptized Orthodox but lacking church services, were helped by angels. Likewise, I met people who were baptized Orthodox and were helped by it many years later, even if they didn’t go to church initially. Can we hope the same for Orthodoxy in China?.
It's interesting to see the humility and discernment that St. Innocent used to test visions and angels that appeared to an Alaskan elder. "Although the teaching of these spirits seemed to be the doctrine of the Orthodox Church, I, knowing that the demons also believe and

Don’t hate your ancestors. Pray for them, live a holy life so they’ll rejoice for you, and fix the problems you might have inherited from them.
It is genuinely a sort of spiritual suicide to hate your ancestors, as you would not exist without their many lives and loves. It is hating your own past. True metaphysical darkness exists within that belief.

I am the original author of this meme. Thank you for your appreciation. At the time, it was my own genuine epistemological grievance against materialism - that people trust the chemicals of the brain to say that they’re chemicals. A dog has no Mind. That’s why it perishes.

In Orthodox Christianity, the self is sanctified in God. Even after death, the saints speak as they did on earth. During a medical miracle, St. Paisios said “Get up, lazybones, enough lying around! Everything’s fine with you. let another patient stay here.”.
"Woaah! He like totally transcended his humanity! Now he has no name, personality, gender, or memories!". "He has crucified the old man, Fallen Adam. Dead to the world but alive in Christ, the Son of Almighty God, his personhood will live forever within the choir of the saints."
