Two fabulous female Prime Ministers absolutely wiping the floor with an immature journalist but doing it in a superb professional manner. I would take both of them to be our leader any day.
I’ve now had confirmation that I can lose the two impellers that I’ve been keeping “just in case” and can now keep the three. Really proud to serve
@wyfrs
as Station Manager. Thanks to all my colleagues
@WYFRSBfdTeam
in particular my boss who’ve been great.
@andyturner110h
I fully support your stance and
@sharrond62
and what you’re trying to do. This is even worse than the drug laden Eastern European’s of the 80s and women’s sport is truly at crisis point. With The Olympics coming up next year something needs to be done now.
@l_herdman
Unbelievable. Not withstanding that in a smoke filled room you can barely make out a person let alone worry about their race and colour. We’re conditioned to save anyone and everyone. That’s it 👍🥺
@sharrond62
@Olympics
You just have to watch the mixed relay events in the swimming and athletics to see the difference. Its staggering. When I was a squash player, I was able to compete with world ranked females whereas I was just a decent club player amongst males.
25 years working for
@WYFRS
today. Seems like yesterday I walked through the doors as a frightened recruit. Still the best decision I ever made. Here’s to the next 5 years😁 🚒🚒
Myself and my colleague Paul England are currently one day away from completing our
#coast2coast
challenge for
@firefighters999
and
@DementiaUK
. Many of you have been really kind but we’re looking for a final push of sponsor to make all the pain and aches worth it. Please share.
@IsabelOakeshott
My mate lives in Aus but works outside the country. He has been forced to have 4 vaccines just to keep his job and every time he goes home he is locked up for 2 weeks. Absolute disgrace
Happy 24th anniversary to me 😎 No, not my wedding anniversary but my Fire Service birthday. Seems like yesterday since I walked into HQ as a raw scared recruit at

Well done boss for raising this awareness on such a critical issue. Saw you earlier on sky news being interviewed by
@SophyRidgeSky
. Such a crazy last few days.
Early Years had such an exciting morning! They learnt all about the fire service as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic - this visit made the children’s learning become a real experience..

People on here moaning that players don’t have any personality any more moan if players try to display their personality. They’re all obviously loving the crowd so that’s got to be a good thing for snooker.
@fbunational
They’re not unprecedented of course, but the level and the ferocity of them are unprecedented. I’ve been going to them for 27 years and I’m a Wildfire Officer so have seen them evolve over the years.
@PoliticsForAlI
@Independent
You need all employees to run the NHS. Cleaners and porters are just as important as surgeons and nurses. Takes all cogs for the machine to be effective.
Warmed my heart this morning when I saw a colleague in the Car Park who’d been battling a serious illness. He was back at work, wearing the uniform and looking tanned and fit. Made me smile for the rest of the day
#fireservicefamily
I also stand in full support for
@LFBCommissioner
. You have been an inspiration for women in the Fire Service for 30 years and are currently doing the toughest role in the UK Fire Service. I look up to you with great respect and admiration.
@ChrisLangWriter
Pet food I believe they market it so the owner will look at it and think ‘Mmm that looks so tasty’. For example, succulent beef chunks with a rich gravy sauce. Probably all tastes the same to a pet 😂
🥳Firefighters at Ilkley visited a local resident to celebrate her 80th birthday!
She's spent a lot of time making surgical gowns & masks for her daughter & colleagues at Howarth Medical Practice🙌
Her daughter couldn't visit, so we went to say a BIG THANKS & happy 80th b'day🎉

The BBC coverage has become dire over the years. Too much mindless waffle whilst there’s some crucial heats or field event finals going on behind.
Morning delivery this morning. Proud to have earned three jubilee medals of which I’m in quite a small group. Looking forward to wearing this from 6th February

I normally like what you say but thought that was a bit rude to be honest. Jill is one of the nicest, most professional presenters. Loads of pro’s have admitted a concentration lapse after matches for a number of reasons,
@Sab_CohenHatton
I really think that people who post this dross are just doing it to seek attention which is really sad. I’ve seen the evolution of diversity in the Fire Service over the last 28 years and the best teams tend to have the most diverse people and skills. Here’s to the future 👍
#IAmMichaelDowden
You have my full support and you showed immense bravery and professionalism dealing with an incident none of us have ever seen in the UK.
Turned on the 10pm news to listen to some of the story of the Grenfell enquiry and am heartbroken to see how they’ve turned the tables and trying to blame the emergency services for this. Our proud profession keeps getting dragged through the mud and all we do is try our best.
Shout out to
@WYFRSControl
. Spent an afternoon with them working on a relief plan for the incident in Bradford and saw a taste of what happens at the other side of the phone/radio. What an incredible job they do

Happy Saturday everyone. Brighouse park run for me this morning followed by Wetherby 10k tomorrow. Running is the best tool in the world for just deloading the mind and gathering your thoughts and we’ve some of the best scenery in the country to do it

I think you need to look at the era at the beginning of this century. Snooker nearly died and it was only a new regime that saved it. O’Sullivan is a big part of that being the biggest draw in snooker.
@ymanna3
I watched it and it was a weird one. Novak hit the ball then fractionally after let out a yell. Never heard him do that before and it was out of character. Good call by umpire.
Tonight we said goodbye to Watch Manager Phil Bradley who has served 31 years protecting his community of Silsden. An incredible achievement and thank you for your service

At times of hardship, difficulty and loss is when you can often find that human kindness comes to the surface.
On Tuesday our crew from Odsal attended a house fire with Illingworth fire crew. What we ended up with...
@andy_murray
I used to be a very good standard squash player who played at a squash and tennis club. Tennis players used to turn to squash quite easily however squash to tennis would take a lot of time. It would take a long time to develop a good serve and a decent top spin backhand.
@AlanMac1990
I’ll maintain I love watching Mark Selby play. He’s a snooker fans purist. He just dissects his opponents and hardly gives them a chance. That’s why you see a bit of ball smashing going on. I’m a big fan.
@MJGold
I’m afraid those in power have overcooked it. The WC was much more prestigious when it was every four years. Even the EC is every 2 years now. It’s got too saturated now.
Finally arrived in St Bees ready for the start of our epic walk tomorrow. The weather is baking and the going will be tough.
We’re walking for two different charities. Firefighters charity and Dementia and I’ll put link in comments.
Cheers 😎
Scorching day to start off our coast 2 coast charity walk. Tough going in searing temperatures. Now happily settled for the night ready to recharge for tomorrow

I used to work in a bank and the women there wore pretty much anything they liked however a friend of mine was told off for wearing a blue shirt instead of a white one. What I love about the fire service is that we’re one uniform, one team 👍

Great work by the initial IC to the incident. What is concerning now is that we almost have to look at buildings potential to fail instead of relying on sound compartmentation and building regulations.

@CFOESFRS
I feel Twitter has allowed CFO’s and other PO’s to be incredibly honest about the challenges facing the Fire Sector at the moment. It’s a fantastic vehicle for communicating with the ‘shop floor’ and they are better informed as to why decisions are made.

Are you both saying that no one should have any leisure time if they haven’t won something. How ridiculous. If I was offered a ride in a Maclaren F1 I would just at it like a shot and I’ve not won a Tennis tournament. Won a few squash ones though 😁
Cancelled Sky Tv package today and signed up for
