That is obviously untrue. The white British population is mostly descended from people who have been here for 4,000 years. Between 1066 and 1945 there was effectively no immigration to these islands. Modern immigration has no historic precedent.

What's happening in Canada is unbelievably bleak and a warning to anyone who thinks you can have some form of limited euthanasia. Once you concede the principle that it can be a legitimate medical prodecure you're rapidly on the path to widespread murder of the most vulnerable.
Until last month, callers to Saskatchewan (Canada)’s mental health helpline had an euthanasia option on the menu.
When it was removed (because of the message it sent to suicidal callers), the opposition party protested because euthanasia is a perfectly legal healthcare option.

Whenever discussing immigration, or the benefits system, or both, I think of the young Albanian woman working on a boat in the Aegean who when she heard we were from the UK said with a delighted smile “ahh England! I get umm.. what is it called… universal credit!”.

For all the talk of Alonso's bad career choices this was the one that did for him and it's too often overlooked. If he'd signed for Red Bull for the 2009 season he'd have won all the 2009-13 titles.

We did have 2010. Because it was a 5-way battle it was diluted a bit, but people forget Hamilton was still mathematically in contention going into Abu Dhabi. Maybe Aston sign Newey and the stars align we could get Alonso vs Hamilton in 2026, but I think both are past their best.

It's difficult to overstate how badly the 2017 election shook my faith in England. A healthy polity should not allow someone who has spent his political career literally palling around with terrorists so close to power. Last night was a huge, huge relief.
Will Boris be a great neoliberal PM? No, probably not. But we came close to having a PM who is a communist who hates the West and is friends with terrorists. And instead he got absolutely, decisively smashed. In my opinion, that's something to celebrate.

I won the Champions League with Dunfermline Athletic during lockdown and it was tough. Trying to compete at the business end of the UCL against the mega clubs when you're operating with Scottish league reputation, prize money and TV money is really hard.

One of the best things about Scottish football is that everyone still takes the cups seriously. The FA Cup is arguably the most prestigious football competition in the world yet its biggest teams treat it with contempt.
Again, what's the point in the FA Cup anymore? Liverpool now 22 points clear in the Prem & without a league game for another 11 days. Yet still play what is effectively a C side, at best. Takes away any credibility of the competition. 7 of the 11 with squad numbers over 60 😂

It's hard to conclude anything other than that the FIA are turning a blind eye to the McLaren wings flexing for the sake of the championship. And honestly the selective application of the rules to level things up has been pretty standard in F1 for a long time.
