I'm absolutely in favour of IDS's battle cry to go back to the office like it's the 1940s but we have to do it properly - smoking pipes at your desk - 2 hour lunches with 4-5 pints minimum - no computers - single salaries that can pay a mortgage

Confused about this narrative that MPs who spent 4 solid years doing everything possible to undermine Corbyn's platform, saying how much they hated him on national TV etc suddenly need an arm round the shoulder from someone they apparently despise?

Corbyn gave that speech after the Manchester bombing and everyone considered an expert on public opinion shrieked that it was unpatriotic and dangerously out of step with the public, then they did polling and found out actually 75% of people agreed, including 68% of Tory voters.

Everybody involved in British political journalism is engaged in a game where they pretend politicians and newspapers are saying important things worth discussing. That's the root of how fucked our national discourse is, and that's why they're all so angry at Joe Lycett today

Interesting that these professional flag-shagging recommendations specifically talk about "dressing smartly at the war memorial" because when Boris turned up looking like he'd come straight from a night out last year, the BBC "accidentally" ran footage from years ago.

@khalid4PB The word "woman" doesn't come from womb-man as you claim, but from Old English "wif" and "man", with man being used in the sense of "mankind", not to refer to a male person, which in Old English would have been the word "wer" as in a "werewolf" being a wolf-man
