It took 29 days for the EU to erode the Northern Ireland Protocol. Let it never be suggested again that the EU is the 'good faith' actor. Let's not pretend it's the party that cares about relations between NI and the Republic. Or that it values contracts, law or institutions.

You just need to glance this impressive list of countries where socialism created mass prosperity to confirm that Karl Marx was totally right:. 😑

Lockdowns don't kill the virus, they suppress it temporarily. The pertinent question here is: what is Wales buying this time for? What actions will be taken in the next few weeks to improve circumstances for winter?.

Wales to go into "short sharp" lockdown from Friday until 9 November, with people told to stay home, while non-essential shops among businesses to close.

I’ll never forget sitting in the court room when the judge delivered his verdict in @darrengrimes_’s case - he tore @ElectoralCommUK apart, finding them wrong in fact & law. Their actions ruined years of Darren’s life - b/c he had the audacity to support Brexit. Some ‘mistake’.

Louise Edwards @ElectoralCommUK tells us that in the Darren Grimes case, they followed the processes fully to the letter, but that they made a mistake in the conclusion they drew in relation to what is an unincorporated association.

Turns out, the EU's principles extend as far as its immediate benefit, with no greater commitment to norms and international cooperation. Best of luck to Scottish nationalists, who argue they'd be better off in the EU than the UK. Treatment of NI certainly suggests otherwise.

.@Fox_Claire is standing for The Brexit Party as someone from the left. This isn't about left or right, this is about democracy.

I've thought for a long time that the party that grasps the nettle on housing will see huge electoral success. Lots of promises made, but Starmer's speech today is a game-changer. Mention of green-belt makes me think a party is finally serious about this. And it's Labour. #LPC23.

Sad, sad stuff. The idea of Americans trying to hide themselves in *London* is just crazy. This is a tolerant, liberal city open to all kinds of ideas - even ones with which many disagree. We're hitting new lows, and we're hitting them hard. #TrumpUKVisit.

People commenting on Gavin Williamson's voice - saying it undermines him in his role - aren't talking about his abilities, but rather where he comes from. These are the same people who go on about the Oxbridge domination of politics and lack of class diversity🤷‍♀️.

Women in the UK are not earning 15% less on average than men, as Rachel Reeves just suggested in her #LPC23 speech. That number combines full and part time workers, so is deeply misleading (in 2022 part-time female workers earned 3% more on average!)

Mark Field's treatment of the Greenpeace activist was very aggressive. But the revelation that she was an unarmed protester could only be known after the fact. Someone else hurrying towards MPs and the Chancellor could have had much more sinister intention. 1/3.

Politics is rancid. Otherwise smart and reasonable people cannot engage on the issues. Worse, they tweet out things they know to be factually incorrect, thinking its justifiable b/c they're on the 'right side'. Top tip: if you're not reporting facts, you're on the wrong side.

It’s ‘based’ around the corner and is part of the nexus. We both understand this. You’re pretending not to. My tweet’s quite clear. You lobby & you boast about providing access to ministers while seeking donations. Jog on.

'This is not a prediction' is not cover for publishing a graph like this without taking questions, and essentially laying out further restrictions on the public's liberties that are expected to be formally announced by politicians imminently.
