@philthatremains fed ex, ups, even amazon, drop their packages off at the nearest post office, because these companies won't come to a huge amount of rural areas. My sister is an online shopper,she shows me emails , your package was dropped at(whichever) post office for delivery for all of them.

@DiBrander we did it in the 60's, so no, not your thing, certainly not a scottish thing, a black cow was root beer and vanilla ice cream , coke floats were common in the 30's and on, ginger ale floats as well.Funny how people think they invented stuff in the 80's.

@elsieased @philthatremains So, unless you're in a very, VERY high crime area, where the chance of death is imminent, the post office delivers to every legal address in the United States. Husband worked as a carrier for 35 years, I started my federal career there.

@BringelsonE @philthatremains what does that mean? Private is NOT necessarily RURAL. My husband worked for usps for 35 years, ups and fedex, as well as amazon have areas they will not deliver to, and they drop their packages at the nearest po. Just the way they have for 25 years.
