@Frasier67Blank @jamano1871 @BrandonLBradfor @steveinmerida if u think a party whose platform is so repellently evil that when polled the general public *refuses to believe it could possibly be true* would retain its “natural advantage” upon said public’s forced exposure to the reality of said policy platform, then yea sure i guess

@Durrrpartment @BumrahBachi @alexlawson2001 @SilvermanJacob @rabois yes. similarly, i should be able to go to home depot and buy a toaster oven that has a 25% risk of burning my house down, if that’s the one i want. i will do my toaster oven due diligence and if anyone doesn’t and then their house burns down, well, that’s their fault

@Bonecondor @beast_ico it’s people seeking a discreet outlet for a (normal and universal to humanity) part of themselves that society has told them is inappropriate to publicly acknowledge

@lizrhoffman congress didn’t “think about doing it and didn’t because it wouldn’t raise much money,” they didn’t do it because Kyrsten Sinema, who was their 50th vote for the IRA, insisted it be removed from the bill if the dems wanted her cooperation

@ShannonJean It was supposed to be part of the IRA, Bidens signature bill. But dems only had 50 senators at the time and so couldn’t afford to lose a single vote. Here’s some coverage from the time about how wall st won that battle

@ShannonJean yes, there is an enormous pot of money devoted to keeping this loophole in existence. ironically, if trump is actually serious about closing it (doubt), gop politicians terror at crossing him might be what finally gets it across the finish line

@ShannonJean It’s been around for ages- attempts to close it have repeatedly failed, most recently when dems wanted to close it but senator kyrsten sinema, their 50th vote and one of the largest wall st cash recipients in the party, insisted it be removed or she’d vote against the bill

@bobbyfijan polished concrete can be quite nice, but depending on what’s in their mixture it might finish differently
