Most kids in the system don't need a new home, they need support so they can return to their family or community. Adoption requires a family to break down, it still requires a person to go through 9 months of pregnancy, let's not pretend there aren't huge ethical issues there.

Completely! I think resources like education and counselling for parents, helping 1 parent escape abuse by another, non-parental kinship placement, culturally appropriate placement within community are kid-centred though, adoption often centres desires of adoptive parents>

Appt went well, healing injury + allergies. But separate to my nose issues, they have a look in your ears to make sure they're OK and they found a large foreign object in my left ear and removed it. Very excited to hear in technicolour.
