Fedorov noted that Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate had allegedly named the Kursk operation ‘The Sinking of Kursk.’
This is an EPIC troll from Ukraine. Absolutely A+!
@JuliaDavisNews
He dodged the question of how many very quickly. They can’t give a number. If it’s too high then folks wonder how they missed that many people massing. If it’s too low, then a small, merry band of Ukrainians just invaded Russia. 😂
@McFaul
@KamalaHarris
WTF! Are you saying a candidate for president shouldn’t answer questions from the press if it isn’t good campaign strategy? Is no one allowed to ask a candidate running for president of the United States of America a question? Seriously?!
Wow … 🤦🏽♀️
@MaxRTucker
@thetimes
“How can we run down a country of 130 million faster than our 30 million?”
The sad reality. They cannot. 😔
Negotiations are best.
@Doha104p3
I believe this guy is genuinely concerned about Ukraine, but he’s more passionate about bashing Biden and Democrats. He will make up things just to do that, which makes him an extremely bad faith actor in many regards.
@AndrewPerpetua
I don’t get this complaint. Western media routinely writes about Russian losses in meat grinder attacks against Ukraine. The problem is Russia has more meat for the grinder, and this is their MO rather they fail or succeed. It’s not bias. It’s just the reality on the ground.
@TonyGonzales4TX
I mean…this isn’t stolen valor. It’s a dispute over rank at retirement. Not sure any civilian who isn’t prior service cares 🤷🏽♀️
I am prior service and I am not sure if I care either. 😏
@KTLA
Only 5 arrest? The Del Amo mall has lots of cameras. Use them to find all these hooligans. Fine their parents and assign extensive community service to everyone of them by continuing to fine the parents for any missed attendance. Make penalties for parents harsh and expansive.
@WarMonitors
So the rioters are checking IDs of fellow rioters? Just to make sure they are not cops. Plus they actively taking out surveillance? That sounds like tactics to me.
@RALee85
Now these issues have nothing to do with a bill not being passed in Congress, but no one wants to address them as the MAIN problem, so they can focus on U.S. dysfunction. Granted. That is a problem for Ukraine, but this is a more serious issue imo.
@DCU_Updates
You know…this is one of those comic things I don’t really care about, but I am always impressed by some weird logically-correct-only-to-comics answer 😄
@JulianRoepcke
@NightWatchman21
So…there’s no other alternative for Ukraine but to keep fighting an attritional war for as long as it takes? That seems a poor choice considering the odds they face.
@Mylovanov
This article makes me think there are some real red lines in this war. If the Russians were spooked enough by whatever Kyiv was going to do, then there are still lines they do not want crossed.
Everybody wants to avoid escalation.
@KTLA
My heart goes out to guy. His 20-yrs old son was a killed at Abbey Gate, and a second son committed suicide out of grief. He needs to be released from jail and all charges dropped immediately. End of discussion.
@vonClownsewitz
Someone recently described Ukraine as a drowning man who might drag down his rescuers. I am feeling that analogy more and more after reading this.
@Telegraph
I enjoyed the ceremony very much. It was a beautiful showcase of the city and the culture. It was like one big street party. The rain didn’t diminish the events imo. I think it added a lot ambiance considering everything that is going on in the world today. Well done France!
@I_Katchanovski
I still want to know who Rota thought the old geezer was fighting for if he was fighting against Russia in 1943 during WWII? Some Canadian reporter please find that out.
@marcthiessen
@JDVance1
Vance isn’t saying anything actual Ukrainians in Ukraine aren’t saying. Corruption is a problem well acknowledged by the people of said country who actually live there. What’s the big deal? That it’s true?
@AndrewDesiderio
Republicans are getting ridiculous with this. The obvious obstructionism is beyond tiring and symptomatic of why most Americans distrust politicians and the government. Enough already!
@IAPonomarenko
I haven’t finished the interview, but…the only thing I can say is I wish my country was better a diplomacy. They failed in this area so terribly.
@brianstelter
The Peacock app has been on point this year. The interface is very user friendly, and finding particular events is a breeze. It’s so much better than the old NBC Olympics app.
I have enjoyed this Olympic more being able to watch things live. I enjoyed the opening ceremony too!
@Tatarigami_UA
As usual your assessments are rational, realistic, and conveyed in a concise manner rarely found on this site. I bought you a coffee b/c you deserve it! 👍🏽🙏🏽
@McFaul
This does not negate years of NATO freeloading and self inflicted atrophy. Collective Europe would be far more capable to assist Ukraine if they had been better contributors to NATO. And it’s really only the E. European countries that seem to be doing the most.
@Mylovanov
I feel like whoever publicly announced Ukraine can’t pay its public sector salaries w/out western aid made a bad call. Or perhaps they should have considered how that might be interpreted by western audiences. Damage is done though now.
@TheStudyofWar
Your updates were never that objective to begin with, but they are now losing what little is left in effort to stay positive as this counteroffensive rolls on. Try for just cold analysis if you can and greater insight on actual battles.
@HoansSolo
@ChristopherJM
“Even if the White House strikes a deal with Congress to extend aid to Ukraine, it seems unlikely to be able to offer the leap in capabilities and technologies that would allow Ukraine to decisively regain the advantage this year.”
This is the most salient point imo.
@ryangrim
So after these people brutally kidnapped these women, folks are supposed to believe they were well treated because of a handshake? smh…give me a break 😏
@TheAtlantic
@skornhaber
I enjoyed it. It was a great showcase for the city. The rain was fitting considering the state of the world.
People need to relearn the art of enjoying something for the sake of enjoyment.
@GravitysRa1nbow
Wait a minute…if I remember correctly. In the movie, serving in the military had benefits not offered to all like the ability to have a kid right? Rewind to that scene of why everyone decided to join.
@I_Katchanovski
I am still curious to know who this guy Rota thought the old Ukrainian actually fought for if he was fighting against Russia during WWII? It’s mind boggling.
@WarClandestine
Russia is not winning. And it is a stalemate. Saying Russia is winning is a flat out denial of the extreme degradation their military and economy has suffered. Ukraine isn’t winning either. Hence why it is a stalemate. Negotiations are best for both parties.
@shashj
@olliecarroll
I have found it incredibly annoying that any information critical to Ukraine, even if it’s information from Ukrainians, is immediately classified as Russian propaganda. Seriously folks. Not everything is Russian propaganda.
@shashj
What really comes through here is these folks in Doha have no idea what’s going on in Gaza. No clue! They are a media wing trying to spin the atrocities Hamas filmed themselves and posted to the internet as fake news. Unbelievable. 🤦🏽♀️
@IuliiaMendel
That’s why not only America has to pick up the load. Europe must step up to the plate to defend their continent from this “existential threat”.
@anneapplebaum
😉 And while the archival record also reveals key moments of self-awareness about the threat Russia posed, American officials pushed ahead regardless—seemingly reassured in the misapprehension that Russian aggression could be negotiated or theorized away in the future.
@belinda_tbh
@KTLA
Good point. Though, I think the regulations and unfriendly business environment in CA make this situation more unique and troubling. FL is much more business friendly at least.
@Maks_NAFO_FELLA
“Ukrainian officials are now requesting that the U.S. to allow them to use long-range ATACMs to hit air fields that Russia is using to retaliate against them — a policy decision Kyiv believes will allow it to retain a portion of Kursk Oblast.”
@Nikolai11449196
@witte_sergei
I need to see more photos and evidence. If Americans are there I want President Biden to explain why they are!!! And I want an explanation sooner rather than later!
@WarintheFuture
I am very critical of this war, but Zaluzhnyi’s honesty has always been remarkable to me. Honest leaders are rare and they should be treasured imo.
@McFaul
Here’s a question for you. How do you foresee Ukraine “winning” against a numerical stronger and more powerful foe to achieve a just peace acceptable to them?
@John_A_Ridge
I get and I don’t get the problem here. This 🐿️ guy is adamant and sincere in his zeal for Ukraine, but he’s also a Reaganite Republican who despises Democrats and Biden. As long as your mind can reconcile those two causes in your mind then your good. 😊👍🏽
@nettermike
I genuinely remember when Long Beach was a lovely jewel and great city to live in. Now you got women getting raped on the street in broad daylight. Shame.
@nettermike
I stopped my subscription to LAT a while ago. The paper was extremely biased and I felt like I was reading mostly opinion pieces dressed up as analytical articles. So this not surprising.
@KTLA
Thousands of dollars worth of chewing gum? I am more perplexed by how much chewing gum cost since I don’t chew gum. Her cart is not as full as I would expect it to be for $1800 worth of chewing gum.
@anneapplebaum
These officials wanted to bring Yeltsin and company into the democratic fold and were willing to pay almost any price to see that happen. It was a gamble—a well-meaning and perhaps even worthwhile one—but the chips they were gambling belonged to someone else. 🤦🏽♀️
