🧵How the death of my Dad was the tipping point in my decision to disown the Army: My father passed away 5 years ago today after many years battling Alzheimer's disease. My father was absent during my childhood and a philanderer while married. 1/x

SHORT CHANGED: GEN Kellogg says Washington sent only $65.9 billion in aid to Ukraine—rather than $174B it claimed. $51.2B of this was actually spent in the U.S. on our own def industry. Russia spends in excess of $160 billion per year on the war—8 times more than US Aid to UKR.

German courts order Musk to hand over election data for the upcoming German elections. Elon will probably fight this decision and tweet about it around 200 times, but one needs to remember that this would never happen if the request came from Saudi Arabia, India, or Turkey—he’d just provide the data, no questions asked.

Donkeys were used by the US Army in Afghanistan to transport supplies to remote areas and outposts. Donkeys were sometimes used in place of helicopters. So, sit down.

This was from Gulf War I and it was showed going through Top Gun. The full video is longer and absolutely terrifying for pilots that operate over bad guy country. Note the airspeed on the left and the altitude on the right. Sure, they're only 60s era SA-2s, but you have to honor any SAM threat. The Iraqis were trying to do what you did with older SAMs; fire over and over (radar and optically guided) to beat the guy down in AS and altitude and drag him down to the MANPAD/AAA environment (below 10K'). All in all, I think this guy gets 7 SAMs fired on him and successfully evades. Remember when I said the Viper has outstanding energy addition capabilities? THIS is where that saved the day. Ultimately, Top Gun showed you this video to teach you one thing. Never give up. Ever.

Mark Zaid has a security clearance so he can represent intelligence professionals in legal matters. He has represented intelligence professionals of all parties and associations. Including RFK Jr’s daughter-in-law @amaryllisfox. This is a clear move to punish an attorney who represented whistleblowers in the previous Trump administration and represents them now.

Hmmmmm, wonder what could be different with immigration now than around the turn of the 19th century....

When people think the US immigrant population is large today, they have no idea about late 1800s, early 1900s. It was much more concentrated with many parts of the country being majority foreign born. Today, only Miami is majority foreign born and it'd be nearly impossible for many more places to be.

Adam Smith is not the end all be all, and your qualifier of "mainline" implies that if they don't follow the crowd they are wrong. Numerous economists, especially early Americans, embraced protectionism & tariffs. All I am doing is using history to point out how your blanket statements are incorrect.
