It feels like this because "the boys" won. Stuff that used to be aimed at schoolboys are now some of the biggest players in culture. Superhero movies gutted Hollywood, Fortnite and GTA are some some of the most profitable projects ever. Culture is a Boy Toy now.
Why are boys not allowed to have things anymore? Girls can have their own cartoons, toys, and even places, but nothing can be made specifically for boys anymore.

Big respect to Baldur's Gate 3's writers, they managed to make terrible fanfiction archetypes like "scary buff woman who is actually a softy who wants cuddles" and "sultry flamboyant vampire who is also a snarky brat" into engaging and interesting characters.
