@fluxtheorist This is nice but their grift won' t stop. Too many gullible people out there who are awed by big words, narratives of hypergrowth and anything with "quantum" in its name.

@nosilverv • reads something someone else wrote • projects their own thoughts and feelings onto it • blames the other person for writing what they projected onto the text

@signulll I think it's a 2 of 3 thing. You can be persistent and charismatic, charismatic and insightful into human psychology, or insightful into human psychology and persistent. If you have all 3 you likely do extremely significant things.

@eris_nerung (People will talk about inner products and whatnot but that's just a generalization and you don't need to worry about it right now)

I actually strongly agree with this. Type systems helping to catch bugs is actually just a neat side-effect of their main purpose, which is being tools for helping to formalize thought.
There are plenty of advantages to static type systems, in robustly communicating programmer's intent, allowing for type-directed code generation, and more. But the "it catches bug" angle is a very poor argument in practice. There, strong matters but static doesn't.

@Ngnghm I like the idea of "squeezing" the space where bugs can hide with both tests and types. Types showing the absence of certain errors, tests showing the presence of others if they manage to sneak in.

@tracewoodgrains This is the fundamental problem with tribal morality and denying the idea that the rule of law could be anything but a hammer to be wielded against one's enemies.
