I guess I can officially announce that I have begun a PT position with UNCC working for the Honors College as a Prestigious Fellowship Advisor. ATM it's just for the semester remotely, but there is a slim chance it can become FT and we relocate. Fingers crossed

So my dog just had a seizure and had to take her to the vet. She has advanced renal failure. Mom isn’t here, and I’m having to explain to the kids their dog is going to die soon. Can’t do anything about it but keep her comfortable until it happens. This sucks

I guess now that I’m on the website I can officially announce that we’re moving back to Southern California. Took a job in the fellowships office at the University of California, Irvine. Everyone has been great so far. I can’t wait to hug the Pacific Ocean & never let it go again

Problem w/ this is you often have to go back to school to get another degree or certificate to show you can project management, teach history at HS, do ed tech, or advise. I’ve gotten a few interviews as a fellowship advisor? but ultimately I think having my PhD hurts me at times
