I think Slamacow was definitely the best of that crop, but part of what made it work is he didn't change too much of the original models and behavior, compared to Element Animation for example. This style above is similar but pushes it further with anime-esque body language.

What I get from the comic is that its hard to appreciate the comics now because the tabood they were breaking are now juvenile and passe. Sure you can appreciate the history of them but that doesn't really make the comics enjoyable.

I'm not really convinced that this is anti-homeless architecture because Japan has virtually no homelessness in the entire country. In 2020, Japan had about 4k homeless people total. In america by contrast, there were 580,000.
