And here's business class on the CR400BF-Z, the newest type offered - a layout similar to staggered suites on a plane, including privacy doors. It is almost certainly the most visually brilliant interior I've ever seen. Maybe not the most comfortable though... A thread: #387CN23

Riding some new buses on their first day in service! These @Go_Ahead_London electrics have a wonderful specification - the cooler shades, lighting and lower back seats produce a much brighter and more modern feel than other examples in my opinion.

A first day in service trip on WMR's new Class 730 Aventras! Wasn't expecting to ride these, nor to like them, but I really do. There are some odd choices (bays at carriage ends have no window) and an untypical spec with a metro seat layout but tables and carpets, but it... (1/2)

Noticed that the @AbellioLondon 's new @switchEVglobal Metrocities were trickling into service on the 322 and popped down to London for a quick ride. They're very nice - it can be difficult to make a small bus feel high spec I think but it's a job well done here 👍.

This is one of the newest business class compartments in China - an aircraft like herringbone configuration. Seats are brilliantly comfortable, again very well appointed with all the imaginable technology and it all looks really elegant to me. Another great train. #387CN23

Arrived! The Interjet is absolutely brilliant. Smooth, seats comfortable enough to sleep in, perfect window alignment and so well appointed with pretty much every feature I can think of. Only complaint is that it's a bit dark inside for me but it's a superb train. #387CZ22

Sometimes you see things when you least expect them... Have always been intrigued by the Metrodeckers planned for @GreenLine702 and this turns up while I was out shopping in Welwyn on rail replacement. Was able to take a ride (thanks to the great driver) - it's a lovely bus.

From the oldest to the newest... Can finally ride one of @AbellioLondon 's brand new Electroliners. These are impressive - bright and airy yet cosy, comfortable seats and built well. A very good effort and definitely the best new bus I've seen in London for a while.

As planned, new Volvo BZL electrics for @Stagecoach_East . Thought they were nicely specified (comfortable seats and two wheelchair spaces is good) and rode acceptably, but looked quite bland and there were some teething troubles with announcements and alarms. Good buses overall!

Took the chance to ride the new @Wright_bus Electroliner Streetdeck demonstrator. Comfortable seats (if firm, but posture excellent), zero rattles even on poor roads and well lit - so much brighter inside thanks to the glass panels in the front pillars. I'm impressed 👍.

Despite the 730 on Monday I really wanted to have a last good trip on the 319s it's replacing. The deafeningly loud 319457 gave a wonderful trip to Milton Keynes, working very rarely on a Sunday and alone as a busy four car today.

Today's main attraction - @RovingRJ 's articulated Citaro on rail replacement! A brilliant bus expertly driven, bendies were slightly ahead of my time in London so it feels pleasantly odd (almost like I'm in continental Europe) on one through the streets of the capital. Great fun.

It's that afternoon every few months where I take a little bus trip around Cambridgeshire... First is this 20 year old, ex London AT545 Optare Solo, now with CG Myall & Son. £2 for a rural route out to Papworth Everard with a friendly driver.

In the capital for a morning sampling @LondonerBuses ' superb new operation. This is without a doubt the best tourist bus trip one can take in London! £5 day ticket, a wonderful route, and of course the iconic Routemaster - this one in original condition with AEC engine too.

On a brighter note: one of Uno's best Citaros on the Park and Ride Shuttle now back from its long suspension. Always nice to see one of these on a Sunday, sort of feel like it might be harder now to find these on public work though... 😂

Returned to Leeds on the @harrogatebus 36. Not quite as good as the Cityzap earlier - this one rattles a bit (it's a Gemini 3) - but still stylish and comfortable. Am very impressed with Transdev on my first time using them. The North is lucky to have them.

Excellent surprise this morning - seems one of the dual door Citaros has returned from Cranfield? Grew up with these buses and still think they're the best in the fleet. Very friendly driver too. @unobus

Had a brilliant time at the @EATransportMus earlier - it's always so nice when a long held ambition is fulfilled, as riding a trolleybus was, but the place also really surpassed my expectations with the variety it offered. Wonderful place to visit.

Made it to Crawley for the other overdue thing to see - @METROBUS ' new hydrogen buses. I'm very impressed with these - comfortable seats and ride, huge windows, beautiful design and branding, and fast with few rattles. Excellent vehicles.

Attempt two at getting the 246 to Westerham, this time successfully. A delightful town and in my opinion the prettiest London bus terminus - have been here before on running days but only very briefly, so it was great to have some more time to explore today.

A few other rides too including recently restored M1440. A wonderful day - great buses (it's always nice to ride them in London service too to see regular passengers' reactions) and brilliant to see people I haven't seen for a while too. Many thanks to the organisers!

Finally! The new @WestMidRailway Class 196. Rode both of the units out, though only short trips on each. And they are definitely impressive trains (love the seat layout and lighting in particular) - it's so refreshing to have more new trains designed with comfort in mind 👍.

Despite missing the opportunity to ride it on a different route earlier today I wanted to make one more return trip on T499, after dark. So many of these buses are more beautiful when tungsten lit and this is one of the best 🤩...

Missed these a lot... One of @unobus ' 2006 Citaros reentered service at Hatfield today on the 601, so hopped back to Hertfordshire for an unplanned and quite special afternoon riding it - recreating exactly the journeys I made daily when I first got into buses fifteen years ago.

More red buses and another trip I wanted to do - the 292 being one of my first local routes, albeit the section south of Edgware from when I used to live there rather than northwards.

Don't usually post or take photos of buses I didn't ride but was pleasantly surprised to see this today. Working the 242 from Potters Bar through to Waltham Cross - can't remember the last time I saw a double decker do this route.

Here are the 25s! It's a superb run behind them along the length of the line, double headed and plenty of thrash - wonderful locos and arguably the stars of today's show.

Decided I'd have time for one quick bus trip round Cambridgeshire today, the highlight of which was this 22 year old @DewsCoaches President B7TL on the lunchtime 21 from St Ives to Somersham. Great fun and very friendly service.

Upgraded to first class for the return Interjet leg so I could sample that too. One of the most comfortable train journeys I've had for a long time - just as well appointed as standard and the seats are so comfortable. And the upgrade fee for the 2.5 hour trip was *£3*. #387CZ22

The only other thing I wanted to do was to take a proper, underground photograph of the train... Here's my attempt.
