The Perfect Fit
Some more photography capturing the amazing view at Hendon Central London Underground station. The small circular tunnels here visually articulate why we call it the tube.
Note: Taken safely behind the yellow line with a zoom lens
Escalators - Canary Wharf
This is very a popular landmark on the London Underground, so I thought it was finally time to capture photography of the powerful escalators at Canary Wharf. It's a very striking design.
My favourite escalators however are at Bermondsey Station.
PLEASE STAND ON THE RIGHT!
I had a lot of fun recreating this old 1944 poster by Fougasse. I needed Charles Holden architecture with uplighters, so Northern line towards Morden. Geoff Marshall is the 'learner' with a trilby hat & Colliers Wood best matched Kenneth Bird's poster!
Stairs - King's Cross St Pancras
Photography of this brick framed staircase leading to King's Cross St Pancras London Underground Station. Due to It's location, I imagine that many frequent travellers of this station may never have encountered this access point.
STATION OF THE DAY 🚇

Ooh I love this London Underground poster by Fougasse in 1944, and still very relevant today. I think I'm going to have to create and photograph a real version of this. Just have to find the perfect escalator.
YELLOW
I wandered through a surprisingly empty London Bridge tube station at 11am. It was my chance to finally take photography of the yellow rimmed poster hallway. Then luckily, a lady wearing a complimentary coat walked in & completed my composition

A Cat Waits - Belsize Park
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Sigrid the Cat & Travis (
@sigirides
). They sometimes travel on the London Underground, so I thought that I would join them on their journey home to capture some photography of the rare sight of a cat on the tube.
Happy new year
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has followed, shared and inspired me here on Twitter. It's been a rocky ride on this platform, but so glad you guys are still here!
I'm looking forward to an eventful and fun 2024.
Many thanks Luke aka Tube Mapper
PERFECTLY PARKED, GREEN PARK 🚇
I love it when doors align at the end of a tunnel. The red tiles make this the ideal location to capture this moment. I froze a moving train with a fast shutter, it took ages to get it centred.

To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, Transport for London is running a 1938 Art Deco-style train over the celebratory period.
There have been test runs of the Vintage London Underground train during the week, here's photography of it passing through North Ealing.
Playing The Platform Piano
I love the piano key floor tiles on the Bakerloo line at Waterloo London Underground station. So I was pleased to finally capture some fun photography of the overlooked feature.
Thank you Musician Fiona Fey for lending a hand
@FionaFeyMusic
BUSTED
I sneakily went into the Transport Museum to take a selfie with my book. Whilst I was engaged in self indulgence, I was spotted by a fan of my work.
It was a little embarrassing, but they then asked if I'd sign my book if they bought it, so it turned into a lovely moment
Reflections, Embankment
More wet knees at Embankment London Underground station. I couldn't resist capturing photography at the seemingly permanent puddle outside the entrance of the tube station. I love the reflection of the roundel.
While visiting the Elizabeth Line, I finally had the pleasure of bumping into the
#SecretsOfTheUnderground
team, Siddy & Tim. We tried a symmetrical composition pose to match my symmetry obsession lol 😆
I was given the go-ahead to capture some photos at Stockwell Bus Garage which is very close to the Underground station. The vast grade II listed garage was once called "the most important building in London" by writer Will Self & was designed by Adie, Button & Partners in 1952.
Empty Escalators - Bermondsey
Photography of probably one the most underrated escalators on the London Underground network. I love the architecture at Bermondsey tube station, and I totally adore the design here.
Happy 160th birthday to the London Underground.
Thank you for being the heart of the city & also for being so visually wonderful. You inspired me to create photography with my Tube Mapper project.
Looking forward to watching you grow even more in the many years to come.

Bullet Train
I was definitely not throwing away this shot of a train shooting out of the tunnel, down the platform & towards a Hamilton theatre poster. It looks like the man is having a stand-off with the London Underground train at Oxford Circus Station.

Shooting Down The Platform
Photography of a train shooting out of the tunnel, down the platform & towards a Hamilton theatre poster. It looks like the man depicted is staring down the barrel of his shotgun at the approaching train at Oxford Circus London Underground station.
GLASGOW GLOW
I recently visited the Glasgow Subway in Scotland, which is the 3rd oldest underground railway in the world. I went to see their new Stadler trains which have replaced the over 40yrs old Metro-Cammel trains. Here's one at Hillhead Station

Coats, Stairs & Chandeliers - Tooting Bec
Black and white version of this shot. Photography of a lady rushing to catch her train surrounded by the absolutely stunning architecture of Charles Holden. Taken at Tooting Bec London Underground station.
Chandeliers & Roundels
I still can't believe it took me a little while before I discovered and captured photography of the elegant entrance to Balham London Underground station. The stunning view looks timeless in black and white.
Tiles & Symmetry - Goodge Street
Second version of this composition taken near the lifts at Goodge St London Tube Station. It’s amazing how long it took me to discover view. The underground has so many interesting locations for photography, that's why I enjoy it so much!
Coo-muter
I'm pretty certain that there are some pigeons that have mastered the art of travelling on the London Underground. I always enjoy capturing photography of them using trains like regular commuters
WAITING AT BAYSWATER 😀🚇
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Geoff Marshall (

More London tube photos
Thanks it was fun 😉
Siddy Holloway at Holloway Road
A fun memory of when I met up with Siddy Holloway from the TV show 'Secrets of the London Underground'. So it made sense to capture images of her at the tube station that she shares her last name with!
@siddyholloway
Night Reflections - Euston
I couldn't resist some puddle photography outside Euston London Underground station. I love the colourful reflections of the building lights contrasted with the deep black night sky.

Orange - Bond Street
Photography of this lovely pedestrian tunnel at Bond Street London Underground Station. This is my second shot here, but I only recently discovered it! I really love the bright orange tiles and how they contrast with the dark blue backgrounds of the posters.
I love experimenting with long handheld exposures. They allow you to capture situations where tripod photography cant be used. This 1 sec shot was achieved by resting on the arm of the travelator at London Waterloo underground station

Note: As usual taken safely behind the yellow line with a zoom lens.

Photography of a Docklands Light Railway train exiting the tunnel & entering Island Gardens Station. I love how the lights paint the track in the darkness & especially enjoy the arching light framing the tunnel.

Trams at Sundown
Since the Croydon Tram network is also part of the London Underground tube map, it means that I'm also capturing photography at every Tram Stop. The wet reflections & low light looked lovely as the tram left Beddington Lane Tram Stop.

Curves - Cutty Sark
Photography of a Docklands Light Railway train exiting the tunnel at Cutty Sark (for Maritime Greenwich) Station. I love how the light paints the darkness exposing hidden details.

I love all the interesting encounters that I have as I explore every station on the tube map
I had the pleasure of meeting Cat Trainer Mohammed, who frequently travels on the London underground with his cats
Here's photography of Lucy the cat feline relaxed on the Victoria Line
Perfectly Aligned
More symmetrical photography, however this one was pure luck. The train driver must have knew I was about because they aligned the doors perfectly at the top of the stairs & waited for quite some time whilst I fumbled with my settings. Taken at Waterloo Station
EMPTY - LONDON BRIDGE 🚇
I was very pleased that I managed to get a shot of the empty vaulted ceilings at London Bridge on my walk. A truly stunning piece of architecture, so strange with so few people

Hypnotised – London Overground Train
I really enjoy looking down the carriages of Underground and Overground trains. You can find yourself being slowly hypnotised watching the train sway and snake around corners. Photography taken near Barking Riverside.
Empty Carriage - Piccadilly Line
I always enjoy taking photography of empty places that are usually populated. This shot was taken at South Ealing London Underground station around midday, so it was a huge surprise that half the carriage was empty. I had to take a shot.
