It was an honor to participate in this briefing organized by @FODPUK, and special thanks to @MrsSFaisall for the kind invitation. I specifically addressed the IPU observer group and the UK country mission’s planned visit to Pakistan. Unfortunately, the IPU mission, which was scheduled for this week, has been delayed (with the reason still unknown). This delay prevents the mission from witnessing firsthand how judges are being compromised and how the basic human right to a fair trial is being denied in the courts. This briefing is just the beginning, and I remain hopeful that, in the coming months, the UK government will effectively utilize the IPU platform to address these pressing issues. I am particularly grateful to @MichaelPolakLaw for his excellent suggestion to leverage the Commonwealth platform more strategically to help restore democracy and improve the human rights situation in Pakistan.
