When we say that a new left wing thing (movement? party?) "needs to be bottom-up", who are we imagining is actually doing it?
Can a true populist left emerge? 2010s populism was far too tied to top down liberal, Fabian traditions. So Corbynism spent huge time on minor details on how to eg make nationalisation really democratic. Now needs to be far more directly redistributive, bottom up &crisis oriented

A lack of socialist leadership puts too much of a burden on the most prominent voices on the socialist left, our pundits. I do think that's unfair on them, really, because it becomes more aggravating when the commentary is bad
