my problem with these sort of responses is they often lack the fandom context and then when that context is shared, the ratio (+ often subsequent insults) has already occured— unintentionally supporting the ppl in the wrong bc you inaccurately assessed a specific critique.
Idolizing? Some of the best fictional characters have bad politics or are straight up immoral. That doesn’t mean you’re idolizing them.

This take is not only terrible, it was made in bad faith. Brit’s point was literally about craft. She exaggerated that paragraph to illustrate that these descriptions DO NOT ADD TO CHARACTERIZATION. they bog the narrative down— which is the OPPOSITE of their intended purpose.
