If you think riding an e-bike is elitist, consider this: e-bikes allow those who aren't physically able to ride a regular bike, to still get around without a car. Oh, and for those of us who are, it's just so fun! We did 46 Kms on Saturday, in -2C, that wouldn't have otherwise.
On a ride to the playground with the kids (on my cargo bike) we were waiting at a light next to a 70-something year old man also riding an ebike. We started chatting about our bikes & he told me: “This bike changed my life. This is the way of the future.” 🚲❤️

My boss just told me he might have to consider an e-bike in the next couple of years because he just doesn't see traffic getting any less busy and he might actually get to work faster. My infectious joy when riding to work are the best "influence" I can have on anyone, ever.

Here's an idea: since car drivers get SO ANGRY while driving around in all this construction, why don't we CLOSE the streets that are under construction to car traffic and only allow bikes and pedestrians? Seems like it would avoid a lot of anger and stress for all involved.
Yesterday while crossing Jubilee to get some ice cream this happened to my son and I. It was very traumatic for both of us. I've had enough of this kind of traffic violence

5 years ago this month we had the mayor bike to school with my 6 year old and within the first :30 seconds they were almost hit by a driver on live TV. Every leader should be required to ride a bike (if able) with a child before they provide any direction on bike infrastructure.

May our mayor have the courage of Anne Hidalgo, Paris mayor, who started this project not caring if she would get reelected or not.
Paris now has 180 gorgeous ‘school streets.’ They are pedestrianized and landscaped streets around schools - to mitigate crashes, prioritize walking to school, reduce noise and air pollution. No brainer, really.
