A man just described my trike as a "lazy bike". I've cycled 60km today. The furthest since being hit by a car in 2017, and also whilst I'm still recovering from a chronic infection caused by my feeding tube. Wonder what he's done today..

Many exciting abstracts from within academia and beyond academia submitted. If you are working/volunteering/researching disability and cycling, have a look at our call for papers for a special issue in Active Travel Studies . Would love more short, lived-experience pieces. 🔽

I did open exams for MSc in Netherlands/Denmark & closed book in the UK for BSc. Open book, generally formulas and parameter values for irrigation engineering, was more valuable than learning by rote. I'm an academic now. Knowing where to look is the most important thing.

If ⁦@UniofOxford⁩ has decided to trash itself, it will deserve to crash down international league tables. But the dumbing down of education across the university sector is a disaster for the nation. The next gov’t should bring in a Royal Commission.

And it's not just a tiny number of wheelchair users and those who need an accessible toilet/changing place. İt's people with chronic bowel and bladder conditions. People who have heavy periods. Parents with children. Older people who may have reduced bladder and bowel control.
