To all the people saying he had money before. That’s not the point. The point is children of politicians can no longer read the room. They don’t promote any causes, charities or even live quietly. Funny enough we now expect more from celebrities than we do from politician kids.

It’s starting to look like people are not allowed to appreciate Yoruba women anymore. Once it’s a tweet calling Yoruba women dirty, so many retweets and agreements. But once it’s an appreciation post, they want to call it tribalism and start unnecessary competition.

I’m ngl the responses are disgraceful. Her parents are Yoruba and Igbo, she speaks only Yoruba and she loves being Yoruba. Is she supposed to not acknowledge her ancestry because of culture wars? even if she wasn’t pro-yoruba, it’s still embarrassing. She did nothing wrong.

@pushforgorilla @seductrice_ @AfricanArchives They literally threw sticks and stones at her after. They physically assaulted this poor child. You’re very crazy if this is the point you managed to bring out. Evil spirit.

PEJU ALATISHE and her award winning sculpture. TITLE: FLYING GIRLS Inspired by the juxtaposition of a nine year old ‘house girl’ she met in Lagos and the girl’s imaginary world of birds and butterflies, Peju Alatishe created a captivating piece of art.

They couldn’t believe Africans could make a well made stool out of quartz. Till today the British Museum still tags it as the throne of the King of Ifẹ̀ even though they found it in the backyard of a random man who they thought shouldn’t have it because he was Christian.👩🏾‍🦯👩🏾‍🦯

Yorùbá Aesthetic: This is not wood. Stool from 11th-15th century Ilé Ifẹ̀ carved in pure Quartz, an incredibly difficult stone to carve, harder than marble or even granite. And yet a simple stool with curves was carved out of a solid block of Quartz in Ifẹ̀ centuries ago.

The day I stop being an Awoist is the day I die. Awolowo saw this, he wrote about it. He wasn’t afraid to speak the truth and offer criticism where necessary. Instead of cursing out the youths, he found a solution. The great unifier. The day Awo died, Yoruba people lost a lot.

They are pushing the agenda to the point where they want you to be ashamed for being Yoruba, didn’t know it’s gotten to this point until yesterday. If I say anything about Yoruba affairs as a Yoruba man, I automatically have become a baigot and yoghurt 🤣🤣 E dense gan.

Iborun is the Yoruba word for head covering, draped over the shoulders and used to cover the head, Gele is a specific piece that can be used alongside the iborun, it’s hold cultural/spiritual significance to the Yoruba people. Educate yourself and stop diminishing other cultures

My hot take is that no tribe owns what we currently refer to as “gele” Gele is a Yoruba word that describes hair ties, a cultural staple for women in most Nigerian tribes. Each tribe styled them differently, but recently, the styling has become uniform and flavorless imo.
