1/ From an FYSK attendee: "I love the intentionality with which the start-ups and participants are curated...everyone is curious, friendly and eager to help. This is the best of Silicon Valley, and the key reason many of us moved out here." ✨
Looking for a new role? Recap👇
Seriously
@Waymo
is one of the very best parts of life in sf. I’ve had friends working on this for over 10 years and every time I ride one, I’m insanely proud of them.
1/ Every day I get emails from engineers or operators asking me what are the best under-the-radar startups they should consider joining.
I declare email bankruptcy. Instead we’re getting everyone together IRL and we’ll make magic there!
We did this pre-covid and it was fun👇
1/ I’ve written and edited lots of blurbs to connect people in my network around job opportunities. Here’s a breakdown on how to do a great blurb that’ll make it easy for me to intro you:
1/ SF is back, but I never left.
I’ve organized an AI/robotics community in SF for 6 years and hosted Founders You Should Know for 3 years.
Three reasons why SF is particularly fertile ground for new tech ideas:
1. Serendipity
2. Enablers
3. Speed
Waymo is magical. I added a stop to grab coffee on the way home from running an errand and Waymo circled the block to wait for me. When I finished, I used the app to let it know “I’m ready,” it came back to pick me and knew exactly where to go next.
Omg I love this future❤️
I’ve been a competitive runner for over 25 years and one of the things I appreciate most about endurance athletes is how many quietly show up, day after day with little fanfare, chipping away at a dream. I love when that sort of discipline is rewarded
🔥Our next lineup for the
@foundersysk

🤝Come meet:
- Ari
Just got back from 9 days of trekking the Himalayas. Conquered some 14k+ passes, spent the week with nomads, shepherds, horsemen, wild asses, goats, and howling packs of wolves
Camped in the valleys, drank from glacial streams, and rose with the sun
So perspective restoring 🤗
Founders You Should Know, Season 1 finale:
🤝meet incredibly smart, ambitious people ✅
🔍find new startup career opportunities ✅
🥐get SF croissant recs from our founders ✅✨
...my heart is so full 😊
Truly,
@foundersysk

A huge congrats and thank you to this month's founders for inspiring us all with your visions for the future ✨

throwback to happier days. on this day, 8 yrs ago.
things have been tough lately with the injury, but very much looking forward to walking again in one month!
Still reeling from Founders You Should Know 😍
From our attendees and founders:
✨"Exceptionally well-organized, impactful, extremely high value"
✨"OMG. Blown away at how brilliantly you executed the FYSK event. My jaw is hanging open even now."
✨"Best event all year."
Two days before the FYSK showcase and I am leaving absolutely nothing to chance 😂
Every minute of this show is rehearsed. Every attendee is handpicked.
Every founder is great.
Can’t wait for it all to come together!✨
In a one hour showcase, we made 461 connections over email for 15 founders. this is INSANE VALUE. i'm really proud of what we are building at Founders You Should Know. ✨
The most I’ve ever deadlifted. It’s taken me 4 months of being consistent in the gym post-surgery. Didn’t think this was possible and feeling pretty proud 😅
Absolutely my favorite night of the entire month — Founders You Should Know cohosted with

I will never forget the early believers who helped me when FYSK was just an idea:
@camillericketts
@kevinzhang
@thathoo
and ofc
@dksf
. I'll also never forget the people who doubted it could be a thing in the world.
...Be the person who enables dreams.
Best time-protecting hack when folks want to hop on a call to ask you for your help: "I think I can be most helpful in the shortest amount of time if you can share a few questions you might want answered and I can try to address these over email." TY, husband for this gem.
@dksf
Utterly and crushingly heartbroken. My best friend for 13.5 years. She taught us the joy of simple things like sticks and cuddles and beach walks. And how to be present. She loved us so well and we were so so lucky 💔
🎉📢The next FYSK showcase will be on August 2nd in SF!

🥳And that's a wrap!! I’ve hosted dozens of in-person events and I can tell you how rare it is to host an event where every single feedback form we've received so far rates it a 5/5. The takeaway? These are DEFINITELY “Founders You Should Know” 👇
I have the perfect partner who not only puts up with my crazy, but keeps me company in the most uncomfortable adventures… Including running at 9,000 ft during a snowstorm 😂
Happy Valentine’s Day
@dksf
😘
Today is the day!! Founders You Should Know is something I put my heart, time, and energy into every single day for a couple of months leading up to the event.
I’m so proud of our founders and can’t wait to see them all shine on stage tonight. 💫

Back in SF after almost a month in India!
I will miss the sounds of animals in the Himalayas, snowy passes, spices, street snacks, mango season, palaces, ancient hilltop monasteries, and most of all, the generosity, warmth and friendship of
@aayushjaiswal07
and
@mahima_manik
💕
Tonight I get to introduce some of my most respected, most trustworthy personal confidants — my ‘Cabinet’ — to some of the most interesting people i’ve met building new things.
Feeling so lucky to be in the middle of great people 🤗
People don't join communities to 'take' from them, but to 'belong.' That sense of belonging -- of having found people who truly get you, of having found a space to be great -- constitutes the soul of a community. This isn't something that can be replicated.
A great mountain adventure always rides that fine line between jaw dropping awe and gut wrenching discomfort.
Just did a 15,898ft pass— our first of 7 Himalayan passes in the next 7 days.
Feeling pretty wrecked 😅
I am the saddest in the morning when it's my normal dog walk time and it hits me all over again that we are missing our dog.
Getting out for a run first thing has been SO HELPFUL. I need new habits. Grateful to DK for sharing my morning with me in this beautiful place
Got cleared to walk again after 6 weeks on crutches and non-weight bearing! Beyond excited. And I can ride a bike trainer (except I don’t have one…)and swim!😍😍😍
Feasted with these incredible Founders You Should Know last night and can confirm we’re ready to put on a great show tonight! 🔥🪄
Thank you to
@Edward_Yip
and the team
@NorwestVP
for bringing us together for a magical evening ✨
Things that make Delhi exhausting: the heat, the sheer number of people, the constant honking and dodging traffic, and hanging out with a white guy who is a magnet for anyone looking to make a quick buck 😅

It’s happening!FYSK founders dinner tonight and showcase tomorrow!! We have an incredible show planned. I’ve spent every day for the past month stressing every. Single. Detail. Our founders have been rehearsing. Our room is at max capacity. I’m excited and nervous and STOKED💫
Doing new things is hard because you’re literally whipping order into chaos, and you have to ramp up on learning so many new things all at once.
I just had a good cry this morning cuz I’m overwhelmed. But I am so grateful for the incredibly talented people I have in my court 🤗
Woke up to so many messages asking me to bring friends, relatives, partners, roommates, etc. to FYSK 😬 We are 25% over the room capacity with a very long waitlist
Next time
@dksf
can be the bouncer and I can be the one who says “imagine if instead no one wanted to come…” 😆
I’ve never owned a car and am an embarrassingly bad driver cuz I have no sense of direction and very little experience.
@Waymo
is such a gift!!
This is my second time taking it across the city today and I feel much safer and much less stressed than if I were behind the wheel🙏
PSA: If you're looking for a new startup career opportunity, this is your last chance to apply to the next Founders You Should Know () on April 26th in SF.
We only have a few tickets left -- we had 100 spots claimed in <6 hrs!
sent out a very limited first batch of FYSK invites to our next event...let the feeding frenzy begin! 🦈
we prioritize talented engineers and business operators looking for their next startup opportunity.
I’m telling ya, I used to sleep a heck of a lot better before we hit insane product market fit. Founders, it feels like you’re pushing a boulder uphill and then all of the sudden, everything tips and the boulder is chasing you downhill😬
"WOW! I'm not usually a fan of networking events, but this has such high-quality companies and candidates. I left feeling super inspired. Thank you for creating this forum! it makes a huge difference 🙏🪄" - FYSK attendee
🥰This made our day at
@foundersysk
! We can't take credit
✨ "It's amazing to me that I was able to make this transition after only spending a combined couple of hours at FYSK. It is by far the most natural and most talent-filled networking event I've been to"✨
This note made my week🥰
🥳Join us on Aug 2nd @
I'm thrilled to announce Chroma's $18M seed round led by Quiet Capital
We are excited to continue to invest deeply in the project and make it a ubiquitous open source standard
Cooped up indoors for the last couple of days. Our windows are buried in snow. Can’t drive anywhere. Getting grumpy/ feeling stressed so I’m going to hoof it to the gym. Wish me luck!
1/ Verdict is out: this month's FYSK was a show-stopper.
- "electrifying atmosphere. density of talent + inspiration is magical"
- "no doubt you'd easily find your best engineers & operators at FYSK."
- "truly the best startup event I’ve been to yet”
Recap below👇
what do you call that feeling when you gave yourself exactly 3 weeks to plan something from idea in a google doc to 70+ people coming together from all over the country to hear 8 amazing founders share their story on stage? 😆
I’m realizing the thing I’ve chosen to do with my life is so weird and different.
