Going to San Francisco this week was such an amazing experience, and I met so many talented journalists. I am so honored to have participated in the Hearst competition and am thankful to those who shared their stories with me about the ferries and life in the Bay area
Congrats to senior Nic Napier, who won second place and a $7,500 scholarship in the Hearst National Writing Championship! IU also placed third in the 2023 Intercollegiate Writing Competition based on monthly contests held throughout the year.

Just wanted to give everyone who I have talked to plus those I may not have talked to yet an update. After an appendicitis diagnosis last night, they took out my appendix earlier today. Surgery went really well, and I am now just recovering and trying to get some food down.

IU reports 544 positive COVID-19 cases among students, faculty and staff from Jan. 6 to Jan. 12, according to IU’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
