Avalanche burned ~$1.7M of $AVAX over the past week, mainly due to inscriptions where thousands of addresses mint ASC-20 tokens. Looking forward to the Firewood DB upgrade to handle high traffic more efficiently on the C-Chain.
In Avalanche's case, these "proof-of-burned-AVAX" inscriptions burned over $3M worth of $AVAX and served a relatively fair distribution model where, in two cases, the largest holder had less than 1.3% of the total supply. This token distribution model is worth exploring,.
