@JoezMcfLy
Its the Fort McHenry Flag. There were only 15 states when the Star Spangled Banner was written, nearby in Baltimore. Celebrating one of their big contributions to the American experience.
@TalkinYanks
The fact the Yankees didn't immediately bring Donnie Baseball back into the fold when it was known he was leaving Miami is awful.
Seeing him in rival colors, that's just brutal.
@Jomboy_
@mspdawg
Love ya Jomboy, but this a tone deaf take. Their owner ruined a great franchise, threw a fanbase under a bus, and is making this move solely to keep their TV deal alive.
With respect, its a bad look to say people are miserable for disagreeing with a positive take here.
@TalkinYanks
Nestor is definitely one of the guys who can go into winter feeling good about himself. He had a great year. Looking forward to what the future holds.
@MaxTGoodman
And Volpe's numbers over the past 15 games are WAY better than that overall stat line. Kid turned it on for the past two weeks. Great stuff overall.
Watching Gary Sanchez stink it up, while the backup we let walk is having a great season in Detroit. Not keeping Austin Romine was costly. This Yankee team is a nightmare right now.
@NY_EvilEmpire
In fairness, you can make a list as bad or worse with George too.
Carl Pavano
Kevin Brown
Randy Johnson
Signing hated RP Benitez
Ken Phelps for Jay Bruner
Trading Mike Lowell
Xavier Nady
Jeff Weaver
Contreras for Loiza
George Costanza to Tyler Chicken ;)
Trading McGriff, McGee

Hate the team, but respect players who play the game right. Pedroia earned his hate by playing well against us, nothing but respect. He played the game right. Still hate the team, but nothing but respect for a fierce rival who put it all out there for his team.
@LogicalYankee
@Jomboy_
In fairness, it's likely the Mets themselves that leaked this audio exposing what a tone deaf buffoon Manfred is. Mets deserve some credit here.
@lindseyadler
@TalkinYanks
The challenge is when a major story like this is behind a paywall, most people are going to get the digest without the context.
@JLasagna43
Hilarious part is the likes. I haven't seen an owning during an Astros playoff game like this since the last time Chapman came in for a save.
@lindseyadler
They used to play the Liza Minelli version for losses until she complained.
There should be nothing but silence, especially after a loss like today.
@billmaher
Absolutely. If i buy a house, sign the paperwork for a mortgage, should others pay my mortgage?
I have no issue with some interest relief, but you took the loan... You should pay it back.
Hard to swallow for those of us who couldn't even get student loans to go down that path.
@10TampaBay
Real topical, you guys schedule this before you went to bed. News just dropped moments ago that both sides are still talking and seem to be getting close to a deal.
BANG UP reporting.
@DJLeMVP
100%, a lot of kids and younger adults don't remember how big a narrative baseball played in the aftermath. From members of both teams supporting first responders (don't tell Bobby Valentine), too the impact of those first games after the break.
@DJLeMVP
From Pizza's memorable HR, to the people of Chicago filling their park with "We love New York signs" for the Yanks first game, fans at Fenway signing "New York, New York... there was so much there around that time.
@GarysheffieldJr
Comparing Stroman to Bauer is an insult to Stroman. Comparing a guy who talked some trash to one who’s been blacklisted for the kind of allegations Bauer has, is a serious insult to Stroman.
@fuzzyfromyt
@thomdamoy
Dennis Santana seems like the guy that showed Matt Blake is human. He's been a ridiculously great pitching coach, but Santana seems to not be following the formula.
On the flip, Tonkin is the latest example of Blake's genius.
@itsmrevandaniel
Been saying this since we got Verdugo.
Verdugo is Swish, Yamamoto is CC, Soto is Tex, and a possible Monty reunion is Burnett.
The cards are falling into place.
The guy who wasn't good enough for Brian Cashman, came in to the game in relief 2 days after his last start, and earned the GAME 7 win propelling his team to the World Series.
Congratulations to Jordan Montgomery, and
#FireCashman
@JLasagna43
The uniform is rough, but its a beautiful city and a passionate fan base. Think most will thrive out there. King could develop into an Ace there in seriousness. Brito and Vasquez could develop into frontline starters too. Good for them and good for us.
@TalkinYanks
Neither should it be shocking that a beloved player gets honored by his team in such a way.
Any arguments about worthiness begin and end with the simple fact that this is a team honoring a beloved player first, and fans have never let the organization forget how beloved he was.
@TalkinJake
@TalkinYanks
Yeah but George would make brash nonsensical decisions by trading prospects for washed up big names that were cooked. There were two sides, especially before his ban.
Standing ovation for his lifetime ban in YS was for good reason.
@Jomboy_
A No-no or a Perfect game is legendary, regardless of the team its thrown again. People have been spewing crap about Cone's for years against the Expos. The feat is the feat.
It's baseball, the worst team can beat the best team in 1 game or muster at least 1 hit to break it up.
@sondraa
Dude's trying to be the Yankee version of Frank. Frank has a charm to his rants. This guy comes off like they might need extra security at the ballpark.
@JoezMcfLy
Conforto punching a ticket to get beamed tomorrow. Its bad when the Mets own announcers were angry. Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling were livid at that.
