@Jube02 @JamesSurowiecki @Jed_Rubenfeld Laws are enforced by agencies, law enforcement, and the judicial system. However, you’re deliberately missing the core of Jared’s argument: the judiciary cannot constitutionally interfere when the executive holds sole plenary power.

@SenAmyKlobuchar Cancer research isn’t going away. I’m in the field and this fear mongering is pathetic and disgusting. Cancer reach doesn’t rely even 10% on government funding.

@Jube02 @JamesSurowiecki @Jed_Rubenfeld Instead, James highlighted instances where the President doesn’t have sole and plenary power, which wasn’t the point Jared raised.

@JasonRylander @MAGAfanMatt @JamesSurowiecki @mehdirhasan @Jed_Rubenfeld Congress hasn’t declared war since World War II. Since then, military actions like the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and more recent conflicts have been authorized through Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMF), rather than formal declarations of war.

@LACanuck @JasonSouthwell @Jed_Rubenfeld When checks and balances are used as political weapons rather than safeguards, they can lead to a constitutional crises, and erosion of public trust in institutions. This is what is being done.

@ProfMJCleveland While the leftist media melts down over Trump, the real constitutional crisis is being manufactured by this activist judge. Is this the new norm? Every time the opposing party wins the presidency, will we just see judge-shopping and TROs to hamstring executive power?

Second terms are always about shaping a successor, and at some point, Trump has to start doing that. MAGA is bigger than Trump, and if he doesn’t lay the groundwork, well—power abhors a vacuum. The Dems are banking on a messy MAGA fight in the inevitable post-Trump era.
🚨 BAIER: Do you view JD Vance as your successor, the 2028 nominee for president? TRUMP: No, but he’s very capable, and there are a lot of capable people. So far, he’s doing a great job. It’s just too early.

@OcrazioCornPop @EricLDaugh I won’t be voting for a Trump 3rd term. Not even Washington sought out a third term in fear of creating a king. I’m of the mind, if you want a king, go live in England like the rest of the red coats.

@JamesSurowiecki @Jed_Rubenfeld A writer is debating a Yale Law professor who specializes in constitutional law—because, apparently, party views outrank a lifetime of legal scholarship.
