once you learn how to understand the world through a marxist lens you cant really turn it off because every single thing is shaped by class struggle
its occasionally a bummer in that i realize terrible implications in media i liked, but mostly its very freeing
Sometimes you see a tweet like "Okay Marxism is good but don't make it your entire personality."
And I don't know how to put this delicately but… it reads like saying "Don't make biology your only way of doing biology."

putting effort into learning about history is one of the most rewarding things ive ever done. something happens, you start to see the world in a way that you cant unsee, and its a little scary and humbling bc you finally see how much you didnt and still dont understand
If you don’t know history, it doesn’t matter how smart or thoughtful you are—you’ll never understand why things are happening in the present, and you’ll never be able to see through the most egregious lies permeating your society. You won’t know who you are or what you’re doing.
