Thinking about when my foster care parents told me at 4 years old that I would end up dead by 18 or a drug addict/in jail like my bio parents. I GRADUATE undergrad in TWO weeks with a double-major and HONORS and I am FULLY FUNDED for an excellent GRAD SCHOOL!! Breaking the cycle.

the most interesting thing about foxface is that within the books and movie, she is not presented as a warrior but as a scavenger. There are tributes who focus solely on survival skills rather than fighting, because of HOW much survival skills determine your outcome in the games.

Saw someone say, “Foster care is still a better option than abortion.” My dude, I was literally sexually and physically abused, locked in rooms without food or water for days, and told that I would be better off dead for years while in the foster care system.

First off, i literally sob every time I look at photos from HS. Secondly, imagine being a fully grown adult telling students (especially from poverty and traumatic backgrounds who wanted to break the cycle of their trauma) that they would never do anything with their lives.

yeah if my univeristy wasn’t paying for me to do both my masters and phd, i wouldn’t be here. it makes little sense to pay for these degrees, i have people recommend to only pursue them if the university funds you or else its a waste.

oh my god. most of life really is about the little things. a nice playlist, trying a new recipe that turns out well, a poem that hits home, spontaneous messages, buying that thing you’ve been eyeing for a while, a warm bed. yeah. im so grateful for the little enjoyments

after almost 7 weeks of living in my depression room, i finally had the energy to DEEP clean it today after therapy and classes. i scrubbed the walls, washed my sheets &my HUGE pile of dirty clothes, disinfected&wiped down my bathroom, reorganized every thing, vacuumed, etc.
